Total Disappointment
The unit was old and uncared for; the cheap flooring was peeling up, and the windows wouldn't shut. The windows were dirty; the screens were dirty. The windows were a very old aluminum type and needed replacing. No art on the wall created a very bare and stark feeling.
The elevator and area up to the unit were also old and beat up. There was no dishwasher, no cooling or heating, no hairdryer, and many of the lights didn't work; even the light in the refrigerator did not work. The fan was filthy, along with the window sills. The screens on the windows were so filthy you could not see the beautiful view which was out the window. One bedroom had no curtains, the other had a few strips, which did nothing to block light. There were no extra trash bags, so we could not take the trash out. There were very few electrical outlets to recharge devices. The beds were those cheap foam beds, double-size beds (I do not think they were even queen-sized). The description said it had laundry - which turned out to be a run-down coin-operated laundromat in the basement. The sink drained slowly in one of the bathrooms, and a piece of plywoodboard was over the broken window. Because the window wouldn't shut, we couldn't block out any noise from a very busy road. They were doing maintenance on the building, and a terrible noise was going on from 8-3 every week day. You'd think the management would have mentioned prior to check in. There are other issues, but I'm running out of my character limit.
