Host did not get in contact with us until 8 hours before check in. We didn’t know if we were going to be scammed or not. We tried contacting the host the night before just to make sure everything was good. No response. We were worried we would not have access to the property because they never responded to out calls or txt and it was very stressful to be on the road so far from home not knowing if we were going to have a place to sleep. The house was advertised as sleeps 8 it did not. Unless you count sleeping on the couch and floor. The house was connected to another living area and had a door that they could come into our part of the house. Very creepy. House had ants and spiders everywhere. Shower came with 1 wash cloth for everyone to share. House was 80 degrees upon arrival and took forever to cool down. Fridge was dirty with leftover food still in it. We booked 2 nights but left a day early it was so gross and creepy. It’s in middle of nowhere. We drove 15 miles just to get dinner. Don’t book this house.

Kawea Lake House

The property was as-advertised. It was very quiet and the finishes were very nice and new. We found the air-conditioning thermostat to be unusual. Every time we returned from being out, the setting was higher than what we left it...not sure if this was an automatic feature, or it was being controlled off-site. Also, there were ants, in particular in the second floor bedrooms. An exterminator or ant traps would help. The refrigerator setting was not as cold as what we would have liked. Otherwise, it was a beautiful property and a really fun stay. The marina across the street had reasonable rates on boat rentals. The views and sunsets were incredible and Sequoia NP was a short drive.
