About this property

Villahermosa is a historic Spanish Hacienda located near Ruth Hardy Park in the Movie Colony area of Palm Springs. The home was built in 1936, and rumored to be the guest house of a famous celebrity. Our prime neighborhood location is close to town, out of the wind and offers spectacular mountain views.

As soon as you walk through the stained glass front door, you feel the warmth and soul of this classic hacienda. The brick, wood burning fireplace in the living room is one of the many beautiful features of the home. Each of the three bedrooms is professionally decorated in it's own unique theme.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including stainless steel appliances. Bathrooms are updated, but retain their original character. French doors in every major room lead to the large, private, 36 foot swimming pool and hot tub in the huge, freshly landscaped backyard. Enjoy the fresh citrus from our Grapefruit, Orange, Tangerine, and Lime trees. Dine outdoors with the choice of two different pergolas, or relax in our outdoor gazebo area.

The home is complete with Digital Cable TV (2), DSL, WiFi, Gas Barbecue, Fireplace, Stereo with CD/DVD, Jacuzzi Premium Hot Tub, new pool deck area, and poolside speakers. Located in the heart of Palm Springs, less than 3/4 mile to downtown shops, restaurants, galleries, the convention center, and the Spa Casino.

The property covers nearly 1/2 acre, and it is beautifully landscaped with flowers, lawn and 5 productive fruit trees.
Pool heat is optional and available for an additional $75-100 per day. No parties or events allowed. The City of Palm Springs has a strict no outdoor or audible noise ordinance that is strictly enforced. If someone calls the noise hotline, you will immediately be visited by a code compliance officer and given a $500 fine. You will forfeit your security deposit and asked to leave immediately. Palm Springs Dreams!

This place made our Palm Springs dreams come true! The yard is so private, and has so many wonderful hang-out nooks, the pool was amazing! It felt like our own little resort. Having the property entirely surrounded by walls/fences/plants/locked gate made it feel extra safe. The inside of the house was so eclectic & artful, and everywhere you looked there was something unique & interesting. The house has a smaller cottage feel, but at the same time it is sprawling and just keeps going and going. Lots of space, so many rooms, 3 bathrooms. Great location halfway inbetween downtown & the airport. Will definitely go back!

Villa Hermosa was one of the most beautiful homes we have had the pleasure of staying in. The location, the property just everything was top notch. The home had everything and more! Comfy beds and an amazing kitchen, awesome entertainment system, reading material just everything! Beautiful decor that was eclectic & steeped in history. If the home could talk.Wow! Thanks Angie, we cannot wait to come back. It was simply perfect. We felt safe and so very at home. Never have we gone somewhere and all of of individual needs of each member of our family been met, as they were here. ♥️

Christmas family vacation

Great place with beautiful grounds and eclectic decorations that fit the Palm Springs vibe. The host was nice and quick to respond. My only knock would be that the hot tub stopped working after the first day, but that wouldn’t stop us from staying there again in the future.

Beautiful property with funky, fun decor.

Beautiful property, with lots of cool art and nooks to hang out in. The pool is surprisingly deep (and cold). For extra money you can have it heated (highly recommended unless during summer), but for our stay the pool heat did not work (the property manager refunded promptly). My group of friends really loved the place and the neighborhood. You feel like you're living in some old movie star's guest house, which I guess you actually are. Only downside is that the place needs some updating and could have been a little cleaner. The pool floaties were grody, and outdoor bed was unusably dirty, which is too bad because it looks like a great place to nap. Overall a fun experience, and Angie was good to work with. Would stay there again! Thank you.

My husband owns a home automation and lighting company, and I am a real estate agent and interior designer. We live in Redondo Beach, CA and love to come to the desert to unwind and enjoy the fantastic weather!

Why they chose this property

I was staying in a vacation rental in this neighborhood and found this property while I was out for a jog. I love the character of old homes and as soon as I walked up to the old stained glass door, I knew this was a special home. It has a great hacienda feel. We chose the location because we love the history of the neighborhood, the proximity to Ruth Hardy Park for tennis, it is very quiet neighborhood with many interesting homes, and it is very close to downtown Palm Springs. Downtown Palm Springs offers world-class restaurants and shopping.

What makes this property unique

The property is on a corner lot that is completely private. We restored the original pool which is huge, 16' x 36'. The mountain views are priceless, and the property is 1/3 of an acre with many fruit trees such as grapefruit, orange, tangerine, and pomegranate. I wanted the home to be a fun place to stay, so it is decorated with all unique, yet comfortable furniture that suits the style of the home. I have also found many interesting pieces of artwork to enjoy throughout the home. Most of our guests at this point are repeat guests, many of them have been coming back since the first year we started renting the home.
