Why Dawn Theodore chose Maalaea
We fell in love with unit which was in the building where my mother owned a condo for the past 24 years. The corner unit with the views of Haleakala in the morning. You could not be closer to the ocean unless you were on it in a boat. I love hearing the waves crash all night long from the Master Bedroom. Centrally located to the entire island. Great ocean breezes!
What makes this Condo unique
Great views of the the whales during the winter and great views of Molikini. I love the BBQ on the ocean. The beach that you can walk on all the way to Kihei. The aquarium is a short walk as is the harbor for a boat trip to Lanai or Molikini. This is a great place to relax and unwind from the stresses of life. We high;y recommend the following car rental service so you can receive a discount. www.ohanarentalcar.com key word to receive discount is Maalaea. Please ask for Sandee Crossland

Great Location wish I would have noticed no AC
Pro's: The location is perfect! The pool was great for the kids and empty most of the time. The short walk to the locally owned deli/store was great. The beach closes was nice. There were pool noodles, chairs, towels, coolers all perfect for the beach! There were some condiments which was nice and full kitchen dishes/pans/etc...
Cons: There was no AC. It was 90 degrees and although the trade winds come through perfectly it was still HOT!!! The beds and pillows are not comfortable which is why I only gave it a three star. The master bed was actually broken in the middle so we had to put books under it so we didn't sink to the middle. If they update bedding and throw in a small window AC I would give this a 5 star!
Mahalo Michelle for your review. I am glad you enjoyed the amenities that we have in the condo. We do not advertise that we have air conditioning. We spend a lot of time there and have never felt the need for AC. I am very sorry it was uncomfortable for you. I will be there in 3 weeks and will check out the bedding and bed. I have slept on it many times and never had complaints before but I am always happy to receive feedback to improve our guests stay.
Thank you again for staying with us. I hope you enjoyed Maui and the majestic views from the condo and lanai.
First the good. Beautiful location and you can watch sea turtles from the lanai. Lovely hidden beach just down the street. Now the not so great. No AC! Yes there are trades but as hot as it’s been it’s not enough. Add to that all the windows open leaves a layer of dirt on everything, the doors to the master knock together with the breeze blowing through. Had to put a towel in between to keep them apart. The unit is dated and could use a thorough cleaning and some minor maintenance. Need to rethink the window treatments for the same reason as the master BR doors. The couple staying in the second BR had it worse due to lack of ventilation. We were pretty much there only to sleep and sleep was hard some nights due to the heat. Also the W/D was not in the unit was some reviews make me believe. Not horrible but was disappointed in how ‘tired’ the unit seemed.
Thank you for the review. We are always happy to hear from our guests. We love the trade winds and it is NOT advertised as having air conditioning. Maalaea is a very windy part of the island which we love. It is one of the reasons we bought I. The area 30 years ago. Regarding the cleaning: It is deep cleaned every few months and has new furniture. I am sorry you were not happy with your time there. We have return guests every year who love the unit.
Nice place to stay
Nice condo. Updated and right on the ocean. No direct beach access, but the beach is close. We watched surfers and saw turtles each time we went on the balcony. The unit does not have air conditioning, so if you are against waking up to the sounds of waves, you may be disappointed. Then again, if that bothers you, not sure why you would be at the ocean. Great breeze through the unit with the doors and windows open. Screens on every opening, so no issue with bugs. Very relaxing to hear the waves when you are in the condo. Dawn was outstanding to work with. The property manager was friendly and helpful. You won't be disappointed.
First time stay at Maui
The location is perfect for us since we want to explore Maui. The unit is very closed to the ocean and enjoyed watching the surfer in the windy day inside the unit. We like the new grill down stair and used a few times. The unit provided very useful based needs, such as chairs, towels, snorkel fins.
We were right on the beach and it was nice and breezy with doors, windows and ceiling fans. It was perfect weather and a nice place to come home every day after all our fun. Dawn is very accommodating and we appreciated that.
A great place to stay. Mahalo!
What a spectacular view!
Sleeping to the sounds of the ocean and waking up to the view were all I needed. I hate to leave. We even saw turtles from the balcony!
