Triple booked, no communication from host at all!
Host did not communicate with us at all until after we showed up to the property and found out that there was already a family in there. We were informed by them that this was the second time today that another family showed up being booked there. So it was triple booked! At 4:16pm the host called me for the first time saying he would refund my money and try and find me another place to stay. He did refund the money, and DID NOT even try to find us another place to stay like he said! Refunding the money didn’t help at all since the money takes days to go back to the card! Vrbo did put us up for 1 night only at a hotel and then informed me that my case would be assigned to the rebooking team and they will contact me when they get my case. So on top of the money that I already paid for the original booking that were out of I had to then find another place to stay for the second night and come out of pocket for that. The rebooking team still has not contacted me. I have a 4 year old with AML Leukemia and had no place to properly and sanitarily flush my son’s central line and give him his medication at the time I was supposed to. Vrbo should NOT be allowed to take our money WITHOUT the host confirming the booking first! This seems to be a continual occurrence with VRBO! This wouldn’t happen if they simply required the host to confirm the booking, then take the money! It seems pretty damn simple to me! I bet this review won’t even make it on the review page!
