About this property

Little Cottage Quiet and Quaint where the grapevine grows and the birdsongs wait

On the threshold of a woodland sits Canterbury's Enchanted Cottage charming and fabled. Come revel in the warmth and detailed safekeeping of the owners/chefs/artists who have created and built the Enchanted Cottage in the Old-World, European fairytale style. A step back to an earlier and slower measure of time and place. The cottage overtures one air-conditioned bedroom (one double bed) a kitchenette and living quarter, one large bathroom (shower only). Paintings throughout by owner Chef/Artist Renee. European breakfast included. On the premise near at hand to the Enchanted Cottage is Canterbury Royale's Gourmet private dining room, a reservation required, private, French Haute cuisine dining room. Guests staying at the Enchanted Cottage may reserve the dining room for dinner if they wish to. However, reserve early in advance as reservations fill quickly.

Best Hidden Gem In Northern Maine
Our experience at the Canterbury Royale was to the highest level of attention. The cottage was inviting and was as if we were guests at a foreign location adorned with a beautiful arched pergola wrapped with mature grapes. The European influenced decor is stunning, along with Chef Renee’s hand carved woodwork throughout. Every new course brought in for dinner outdid the previous. The breakfast was crafted with thoughtfully with foods from around the world. Chef Barbara and Chef Renee were very professional and kind. We were left wanting nothing. We want to make this a yearly tradition!

Perfect Getaway Cottage
The cottage was perfect! So clean and well appointed. Everything was ready when we arrived. We opened the door and voilà the perfect getaway cottage laid before us. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette was fully stocked for morning coffee. Our stay at the Canterbury Cottage was a joy!

A Treasure
A magical experience – you will feel like you’ve been dropped into a fairy tale. The cottage is immaculate and filled with lovingly hand-painted artwork. At mealtime, you will be treated like royalty by the chefs. Breakfast was exceptional. The bed is soft and comfy and the kitchen area is a convenient and nice feature to have. The cottage is in a calm, quiet location where you can easily enjoy the sounds of nature all around you. The attention to detail across the entire experience reflects the obvious passion the owners have for this place, and they could not have made me feel more welcome. This is a once-in-a-lifetime stay and a true treasure hidden in the enchanted woods of northern Maine!
