About this property

Stunning Victorian Converted Mill Retreat

Boddington Mill is a stunning countryside retreat steeped in history and rural charm. Multiple levels intersect the original mill parts, for a generous and sociable living space. A south-facing garden includes outside dining, wood-fired hot tub, and large lawn, home to fruit-bearing trees and wildlife. Bedrooms feature luxury bedding set beneath vaulted, oak-beamed ceilings and period windows. Guests will enjoy fine comforts, modern media, and a kitchen fit for even the highest culinary ambitions.

The space
Boddington Mill sits in a picturesque hamlet outside Cheltenham, home to its own excellent pub/restaurant and web of public footpaths. Cheltenham racecourse is a 10 minute drive away and the town centre is 15 minutes.

Sleeping Quarters.
Boddington Mill has three gorgeous bedrooms that comfortably sleep up to 6 people in a 3 or 4 bed arrangement. All bedding is consciously sourced to minimise environmental footprint and provide the highest levels of comfort.

Bedroom 1.
The master bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom and super king bed for extra space. Situated on the top floor, the room has high vaulted ceilings, and views out onto the lawn and water feature.

Bedroom 2.
Bedroom two has a king size bed and seated snug area. Also situated on the top floor, the room matches the high beamed ceilings of the Master bedroom and features blackout curtains, dual aspect period windows, and storage space aplenty.

Bedroom 3.
In bedroom three, guests can choose between a super king bed or two standard single beds. Separated from the living area by old oak double doors, the room is warm and cosy and houses an antique Captain's writing desk, perfect as a private work area.

Living & Dining Rooms.
The mill shaft is a striking centrepiece to the living spaces, in which a large mezzanine lounge overlooks the dining room, which in turn overlooks the kitchen. Tall windows intersect the lower levels for further cohesion and an abundance of natural light. The living room is generously proportioned with plenty of comfortable seating. You'll find a modern TV and entertainment set up, including Netflix and Sky Sports as well as multiple board games for interactive entertainment. The dining room has a large table under ornate chandelier shades. It's the perfect space for sharing a meal, arts & crafts, or an evening card game. The sourcing of furniture and electronics is approached with an environmentally conscious mindset, choosing only antique or up-cycled furniture and eco-friendly, energy-efficient appliances. The house features a solar PV system to help offset our carbon footprint across the year.

Kitchen.
The mill's ground floor kitchen features an electric Smeg range cooker, Aarke soda stream, large capacity fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. Additional seating aside the mill makes this room just as cosy as any other in the house.

Bathrooms.
The master bedroom features a modern en suite with standalone bath and separate bidet, basin, and toilet. Also on the top floor is a family bathroom with standing shower, toilet and basin, all styled with a timeless and traditional finish. There is a third toilet and basin situated on the ground floor.

The Garden.
The garden features something for everyone. Play a spot of croquet on the expansive lawn or soak in rustic luxury in our wood-fired hot tub, with its onboard low-carbon log burner for true relaxation. A six-seater outdoor dining table is an all-day sun-trap beside the mill's south-facing wall. Explore the grounds' passages, dens, and grassy knolls home to fauna and flora alike, including birds, rabbits, and fruit-bearing trees such as, olive, plum, damsons, pear, apple and fig (note, our fig tree is small but mighty!). The garden is designed with environmental footprint in mind, comprising plants with low watering requirements and areas committed to supporting biodiversity. As a dog friendly property, Boddington Mill has a specially fitted outdoor shower with mixed tepid water supply to keep furry friends pampered and clean.

Exterior and Parking.
We're proud to offer electric vehicle charging via our 7kW type 2 charger. We use Monta, an easily accessible software through which guests can charge via a simple scan of a QR code. You don't need an app and payments are made via apple pay. Our onsite parking has space for three cars comfortably.

Gorgeous property
Absolutely stunning property that was perfect for a little girls trip away. The pictures do not do it justice - so much space in the house and all the amenities! The bed in the master bedroom was like sleeping on a cloud - very comfortable! Host was very responsive and gave detailed info that covered everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing!
We stayed for 2 nights, we’ve stayed in a number of properties and this is by far our favourite. A stunning property, so spacious and well furnished, so clean and everything provided like brand new, beautiful gardens, immediate responses from the owner, we would 100% like to return. Comfortable beds, Great shower and bath, all utensils, lots of crockery, glasses, cutlery etc, TV, sound system, games, super clean, so quiet, we just LOVED this place and I can’t say enough about it! The original features from the mill unbelievable! Highly recommend.

Stunning Mill Retreat
We spent 2 weeks driving from Cornwall to Inverness. Of all the places we stayed (9 in total) the Mill was absolutely the most stunning, luxurious and comfortable during our trip. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into furnishing this home, its grounds and it was absolutely immaculate. Joe even checked in with us to make sure everything was going smoothly. This would be a perfect location for a family or couple. The location was a rural but minutes away from fine dining and shopping. We had Sunday dinner at The Old Spot Pub which is a short 5 min walk to the end of the road. I would not hesitate to book this place again - it was a lovely stay.

I love spending time developing the perfect getaway for guests to enjoy. It's a constant quest, but we strive to provide short stays that are fun, luxurious, and sustainable. In my spare time I'm a song writer, musician and geographer.

Boddington Mill is truly unique and combines nature, history and tranquility with interior luxury and comfort. You'll know when you stay there.

What makes this property unique

We endeavour to make our stays environmentally low impact.
