About this property

Enjoy gorgeous views of the countryside with privacy and serenity on a farm.

Fourth generation farm since 1943 featuring the pre-1875 house including a gas fireplace, wifi, Roku, and jacuzzi tub. Free range chickens on farm provide complimentary fresh eggs! Chester the orange mackerel tabby lives outdoors but would love to be in indoor cat. Conveniently located in northwest Holmes County and 10 minutes from Shreve and only 20 from Wooster, Millersburg or Loudonville. Enjoy a relaxing day in the country or local attractions just minutes away including Sunny Slope Winery, Hershberger's Bakery, Harvey's Market (April through October), Maw Maw Diner, Brown's Lake Bog, Shepard's Market, and Holmes Pottery.. Find some deals at Prairie Lane Market and Weaver Basic Food, have lunch and shop at Pine Tree Barn. If you like a less stressful Amish experience, this is for you.

Country Farm House Experience
If you are looking for a country farm life experience, look no further. This is a quaint country house in the heart of Amish country side. Full amenities, including a working farm with fresh eggs. The house is full of antique pieces of furniture. However, it is lacking in the family community space. Living room furniture is sparce for a family of five to enjoy.

We own and operate a 200 cow dairy at an adjacent farm. We sell our milk to Guggisberg Cheese, manufacturers of award winning Swiss with a retail store in Charm. I am also a freelance writer and preservation consultant. I am a lifetime and board member of Friends of Ohio Barns. Previously I worked for many years at a library information company in Ann Arbor, Michigan where I also attended the University of Michigan. We are thrilled to share our property with our amazing guests! Since I love to travel and no longer have the opportunity, I enjoy hearing where you're from and what you like to do in your spare time. We do our absolute best to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We look forward to having you as guests soon!

Why they chose this property

The farm you are staying at was already here when the 1875 Holmes County Atlas was published. I have a copy of the drawing of the farmstead named "Pine Hill Farm" and owned by the heirs of Jacob Lovett. Since there are still pine trees, we continued the use of the name for the property. It is now owned by the fourth generation of Langs and in the family since 1943. A tornado took down the top of the barn sometime after that time and the upper level rebuilt. We purchased the farm in 2016 and updated the house. The next project is to renovate the carriage house between the house and barn..

What makes this property unique

Walking and cross skiing (in season) along the farm lanes.
