There are 5 double bedrooms and bathrooms, a spacious kitchen and living area with fireplace and TV, an outdoor kitchen and a barbecue which will invite you to cook and dine in open air. You will admire the Mediterranean sea from the rooftop or from the terrace by the pool. The beach is reachable in 10-15 minutes by foot down the hill.

The house's architecture and decoration are typical from Andalusia. Located in la Herradura (Almunecar), the house is 1 hour away from Malaga airport. The house is situated in a very quiet street and the beach is reachable by a tiny path down the hill in 10 minutes by foot.

Great Stay

The communication with the owners before our stay was fantastic. After we arrive (it was an easy drive from Malaga) the check in process was smooth and the house was incredible! There was enough room for the 9 of us, wonderful patios and a great pool. We walked to and from the beach (it is a little steep) and enjoyed the village of La Herradura. It was a perfect vacation in a perfect location. Thank you!

Great family villa

The villa has an effective combination of traditional and modern styles. The kitchen is really well-equipped for cooking for large groups and the outside spaces have lots of chairs/tables etc. There is an outside area for cooking outside as well if the weather gets very hot which is a great addition. Private pool is a good size and well-maintained. La Herradura is a small coastal town with plenty of places to eat & drink and a long beach of stones and dark sand. A really nice spot for a break and withing easy striking distance of Malaga, Grenada, Nerja etc. Couple of things to mention: - if you are arriving in the dark take a torch with you. The name of the property is clearly written on the side of the villa but it is not clear in the dark - there is a keyless entry system using a keypad. We found this to be inconsistent during the week - it rarely worked first time and a few times we had to use the key that we got from inside the property. My recommendation would be to take the key with you as back up although the property owners assured me that there had not been any problems before - the path from the villa to the town of La Herradura is very steep and the first 200m of the path are rough stone & gravel. It takes around ten minutes to walk down and probably 15 to walk back. Again my advice would be to have a torch if you are doing this in the dark (I left a torch in the house for future guests) but also if there are any travellers in your group who have any mobility issues this path is going to be difficult for them. You can go to the town via the road - I guess this would be around 30 minutes to walk but again a steep climb on the way back.

Week stay - Early August 2022

Wonderful property. Clean, lots of space. large bedrooms, plenty of eating areas (kitchen, outside, roof terrace). Pool was lovely and very welcome in the heat. Short drive to supermarket. Can walk down to beach area. One hour from Grenada (Alhambra palace, catherdral). Some delightful mountain towns (e.g. Frigiliana) about half hour drive. Aircon would have been a bonus in August. Would consider going again a little earlier or later in the year just to be a bit cooler on a night but overall - a fantastic stay! We loved it.
