BMT Graduation
Our extended family of 11 stayed here for our son’s BMT graduation. It was about a 15 minute drive to the base. The neighborhood was quiet. It was one of the few places we found with enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our large group.
The house was decent, but just a few easy changes would have made it spectacular. We were provided with only one garbage bag to last for the duration of the trip. There is a Walmart very close by, but still, it’s annoying not to have basics provided. It was great to have a washer and dryer, but the detergent and fabric softener were empty.
There was a swing set in the back yard, but the weeds were so high we didn’t dare go back there.
There is only one bathroom upstairs, which really wasn’t a huge issue. However, one simple change would be to adjust how the doors lock. The upstairs bathroom is a jack-and-Jill bathroom, however you can only lock the doors from the outside of the shower/toilet area. The locks need to be switched so the person using the shower or toilet has the privacy. The person washing their hands usually doesn’t need that privacy.
Locks on the bedroom doors would have also been nice for privacy within mixed company.
The bathroom upstairs has a shower and a tub, but there was no way to plug the tub. There was a large jetted tub downstairs in the Master bedroom that the kids used.
We had trouble finding enough towels for everyone and the floor was so dirty our feet were blackened.
