Almost everything was awesome. Cute little bungalow with a great little courtyard! The dog friendly items were awesome. Dog bowls, towels and a little bathtub by the hot tub was great after play at the beach! Only issue was a little noise from the attached garage door opening and a small ant problem. We would stay again if in the neighborhood! Cute shops and restaurants all over! We loved that everyone had dogs!
The cottage was very cozy. Clean when we checked in but there were ants inside everywhere
Great location. Cute cottage. However there were these little red ants everywhere.
Convenient for the beach life.
We had a great experience here in San Diego and my expectations were fulfilled. The surrounding area was like a dream to me because I am not used to the beach life.
The OB Bungalow was great and the amenities were useful. Only one issue I faced was the parking accessibility. The parking rules are different here and I didn’t know that I parked in a red restricted curb which ended up in me getting a parking ticket. There is no sign nearby saying the rules.
I recommend pushing out best hours for getting a convenient parking spot near the bungalow. Not being able to access the vehicle for loading, unloading, etc. can become a hassle.
Thank you. I would recommend this spot.
Insect problem. Ants all over “bed” as it was just an old mattress thrown on floor. Not a real bed.
Cute beach bungalow
This was a cute place to stay in a very quiet neighborhood. It's perfect for 2 people, close to shops and restaurants. The only 2 issues we had were small ants crawling everywhere. There was an ant trap set but the ants were definitely winning. In addition the hot tub indicated service was needed and the warmest it would get was 91. I was really disappointed in this because we opted for this bungalow over a waterview hotel room because of the hot tub. I don't quite feel this deserves 4 stars and if I could, I would rate it 3.5 starts due to this and the ant problem. Other than that, the bungalow would have been perfect.
Great location and privacy!
We loved this 1 bedroom cottage with our own patio surrounded by a beautiful garden and privacy gate! The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was everything we needed. We loved being in a residential neighborhood away from the noisy Newport Ave, yet close enough for a 5 min walk to enjoy a variety of foods and ice cream at night or a lazy breakfast on the morning. We absolutely loved the Wed night "Farmer's Market" .. more accurately described as a street fair with a large variety of ethnic foods, fresh produce, gluten free & vegan baked goods, gorgeous fresh flowers, with music and outdoor shops. We enjoyed a week-long stay and found Ocean Beach to be quieter during the week. As other reviewers pointed out, the cable TV was unreliable and, as noted in the description, it is in the path of departing airplanes. We got used to the airplanes and spent our days relaxing at this comfy cottage and never ventured into downtown San Diego. (If you want to, it's a quick uber drive away.) We enjoyed reading from the books provided in the bedroom. Can't wait to return!
This small beach town is a favorite among locals who spend their days surfing, sunbathing around the pier, hanging out in their vintage VW vans, and strolling through the many surf shops, taco stands and antique malls. Ocean Beach has a throw-back groovy vibe of vintage SoCal, coupled with friendly locals and great dining
Nestled between the San Diego River and the hills of Point Loma, Ocean Beach is perfect for surfers to enjoy the waves created by jetties. The beach is also friendly for swimmers, sunbathers, even dogs too!
