This is totally a cottage, equipped with it's own little quirks and imperfections. However, sitting directly on Rock Lake, with a little deck and propane fireplace for evenings or afternoon relaxation is breathtaking. In the winter, use it as a warming station when coming in from ice fishing or snowmobiling.
The Cottage is spacious and does the job! Gas fireplace (converted from wood), comfortable couch and reclining chairs overlooking both the fireplace and lake make for a wonderful atmosphere. Big kitchen table invites gatherings and comradery. There is a family room with television perfect for gaming.
Master bedroom has a queen bed with a small separation and then a twin sized daybed and trundle.
Bedroom 2 has 3 twin beds providing everyone enough of their own space.
Downstairs is unfinished, but does have a laundry and second toilet (great for emergencies).
Close to the heart of downtown, so it's just a hop, skip and jump away. Lovely area for walking. Go downtown and grab a specialty coffee at Daydreamers, cute merchandise at one of the many artisan shops or some tasty treats from a number of restaurants.
You are only about 30 minutes from Madison, 10 from Johnson Creek Outlet Mall and other shopping, great thrifting options, enjoy the L.D. Fargo Library, Aztalan State Park and so much more.
Maybe you are a legend seeker? The website mysteriesrunsolved.com says that since the early 1830s native Winnebago and Ho Chunk people have been talking about a "sunken village of rock teepees" that exist beneath the waters of Rock Lake, but they weren't actually "seen" until the early part of the twentieth century. What do you think?
