Perfect Spot in Essex

This was our second time staying at this apartment in Essex and it was just as great as the first time! The location is close to downtown Essex, tucked away on a quiet street. The host has created a comfortable home away from home, with lovely artsy flair. We hope to return again next year!

Essex long weekend

A great place to stay! Huge TV, sectional sofa, great kitchen, beautiful and unique wood furniture, comfortable bed, great location, sleeps 4. Host was so accomadating!!

Wonderful stay!

Bridget is the perfect host! Apartment is very nice. Great location, comfy beds, and nice touches throughout. Coffee, tea, creamer and snacks were a welcome surprise.

Essex Gem

The host had so many special touches to make this place a wonderful spot to stay. She had little snacks in the kitchen, with coffee and tea in the cupboard. There was half-and-half and the refrigerator, which we really appreciated. The towels in the bathroom were folded like you were in a special hotel. There was also lovely soap, shampoo and conditioner. Due to the cold temperature in the teens, she actually purchased some space heaters to make sure we were warm. Although there was a second bedroom on the third floor, we stayed in the very comfortable bedroom on the main floor. We are actually going back for three weeks this summer and look forward to our stay in Essex.

Adorable guest house

My daughters and I had a girls getaway weekend and stayed here overnight. The house was easy to find thanks to great directions. It was spotless inside and bed arrangements were perfect for three of us. It’s a great location with only a short drive to many of the areas small towns. We saw a show at the Goodspeed theater in East Haddam, had cocktails in Chester, and a lovely (expensive!) brunch at the Griswold Inn in Essex. All in all a perfect weekend.

My friends and I had Goodspeed Opera House tickets and stayed here for the night - it was perfect! Short drive to the theater. Neat and clean with everything you need. Would stay again!

Came for a murder mystery

We were visiting Essex for a murder mystery event at the train station. The house was only 5 minutes to the station and a perfect house for the 4 of us.

More than happy to go back…

What a great place. Everything was spotless. The decor was modern and so attractive. Bridget, the owner, was so sweet and accommodating. The house was situated in the middle of beautiful quiet area. My son’s bedroom was upstairs and mine on the main floor. Plenty of privacy. So much sunlight. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great little getaway

Bridget and Doug were great hosts. We had everything we needed and the apartment was spotless. The mattress was comfortable and there were plenty of towels. When we had a problem with the skylight in the bathroom they addressed it without complaint. Their property is in a great location. It's only a few minutes drive to Essex Village and the Connecticut River Museum, and 15 to 20 minutes from state forests and the coastal towns of Old Lyme and Old Saybrook.

Anniversary Weekend

My wife and I visited Essex to celebrate our anniversary. The apartment was perfect for the 2 of us; clean, inviting, and in a great location. Bridget left us a couple of cupcakes, which was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay.

Great Overnight Stay

We were visiting our son and girlfriend in CT. we wanted to spend some time on the Essex steam trains and boat. This vrbo is in a nice neighborhood, easy to find. Had a lot of special extra touches provided by the owner. welcoming snacks, Extras if you forgot any. Easy check-in. Games, streaming. We really enjoyed our short stay!

Perfect 2 days

I was in town visiting family with my adult son and every detail was just perfect. We had flight delays and didn’t arrive until 3am and My sons bag was lost. No worries! Bridget had thought of everything as there was a spare Toothbrush waiting in the bathroom. The accommodations were very comfortable (especially the beds) and spacious. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Lovely apartment in Essex, CT

The apartment is in a lovely neighborhood that overlooks the CT River. The apartment is cozy and very clean--it has a sweet kitchen with everything that you could need including snacks, tea, and hot chocolate! The two bedrooms are lovely and very comfortable. We loved our stay!

Essex sanctuary

The apartment was all we could ask for: clean, well-appointed, comfortable beds and sitting areas, not far from downtown and other points of interest. Highly recommend!
