Extremely Unclean Stay
We rented this home out to celebrate my graduation from UT law school. We decided to rent this home because, though it had no other reviews at the time, was discounted and close to downtown and would suit a family party to celebrate. When we arrived, we immediately noticed several feral cats outside the home and food dishes indicating whoever lived there fed these cats. We walked inside, with the cats following us in despite our efforts to keep them out. Immediately upon entering we smelled rotting food throughout the house. We then walked into the kitchen where we noticed a full trash can and a fridge full of food, open cans of cat food, and rotting food. The fridge further was covered in mold and had popsticle sticks glued inside of it. Upon inspecting the bathroom we noticed black mold through the tub. There was also cat feces on the stairs as well as several cat hair balls throughout the home. When we went upstairs we found unfolded laundry covering the washing machine and, after spending several minutes trying to get the cats back outside, we immediately vacated the property. I took photos and sent them to VRBO, who agreed that the property was not as advertised. VRBO then contacted this host who told us that their cleaning crew must not have come and that the home would be cleaned and ready by the next day. We informed VRBO and the host that we would not be staying at the property because we needed full use of the refrigerator to host a barbecue. Host refused a refund.

I gravitate toward places where laughter, creativity, and happiness abound.⛲️
My love of entertaining led me through the fine dining industry in 3 US states, and I found that what I remember most are the spaces. The great halls and cozy restaurant nooks where the quiet conversations and eminent moments of memories are made.

The spaces I create are designed to be enjoyable and interesting; places where you can lighten up, drop your worries, and create something memorable for yourselves.

My favorite place to travel is the beach, but I settled in Austin, TX, where the eclectic cultural scene, and the diverse artist communities of east Austin nurture my Spirit, and inspire me to greater creativity. The land here is rich, in both community, and nature's expressions of beauty. Greenbelts and creeks wind their way throughout the city and waterways such as Barton Springs and Ladybird lake are easy to enjoy.
My time spent in Austin has inspired me to study natural medicine, and apply the principles of healing to property management through Feng Shui. Each room is carefully curated with your comfort in mind and the colors and textures provide a richness that makes your stay feel like a vacation.

Why they chose this property

This property has been my passion project for the last 10 years, and it has been home to many creative endeavors. The houses themselves are pieces of art in the classic craftsman style, and many of the materials used are historic in their own right. Constructed and embellished by hand, the surfaces of the Villa feature old growth hardwoods, Texas red granite, custom mosaics, and even real gold leaf trim.

The stunning natural vistas are surprising to find so close to downtown, and the iconic Capitol building and city skyline peek through the trees of the neighborhood. Native wildlife such as songbirds are frequent visitors, and many sunsets feature the famous hazy lavender hues of Austin's famous violet crown.

You can book the Villa, the Cottage, or both for your stay, and unwind or entertain in one of the outdoor gathering spaces on property. Although it is only 2 miles to downtown, this property feels peaceful and secluded.

What makes this property unique

Convenience and options are key, and you may choose to prepare your food in the Villa's kitchen stocked with essentials, at the outdoor patio kitchen with wood-fired pizza oven, order in, or dine out at one of Austin's fabulous restaurants.

Close to Downtown, UT, St Edward's, Dell Seaton Hospital, the Convention Center, Travis County Expo Center, Palmer Auditorium, and countless restaurants, cafes, and live music venues, it is easy to access all Austin has to offer from this location.

Shop in Mueller, in the Domain, or wander the shops downtown. Find handmade art and meet the artists at local studios and seasonal bazaars. Take a yoga class at Dharma, or Practice, or try something new like trapeze at Sky Candy, or pole fitness at the Brass Ovaries. Rock climbing is available by the hour at Austin Bouldering Project, and you can finish with a treat from gluten free treat shop OMG Squee.

Hiking begins at your backdoor, kayaking is nearby at Ladybird Lake, and swimming is available year round at Barton Springs and the local YMCA. 9 golf courses are available within 10 miles, and the local parks have tennis, volleyball and even a halfpipe.

I am pleased to share these unique Austin experiences with you through hosting your stay, and I hope you will find your time here satisfying and memorable.
