Fab holiday home
I stayed with my family at this holiday home in July 2019. It is a fantastic property and has everything you would need for a holiday in Orlando. There is loads of space and a wonderful pool and spa.
The check in guidance was easy with some helpful information from the owner and the keyless entry is a great idea meaning you are not worried about losing keys whilst enjoying the theme parks. Communication with the owner was excellent and I felt that if I had an issue with the property he would have responded to it quickly - as it was there were no problems so all good!
The pool is cleaned once a week and there is a washing machine so you can take advantage of the larger american style machine which meant we came home with little washing - an added bonus! There are ample towels which means you don't need to take your own for the pool which is always helpful.
There is so much to do in Orlando so you need to plan to chill at the vill a for a few days to rest otherwise you can be completely exhausted. We seen spent an afternoon in Celebration and had a great lunch followed by a brilliant nature walk around the local lakes - highly recommended for a change of pace.
I would definitely reccommend this property.
Not to far from the parks
House was very nice kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans. Pool was great.
It was a great time. The pool, washer and dryer was great as was the house. Wish they would have provided more than 2 dishwasher packs, toilet paper and 1 trash bag. More because could only by cheap quality replacements at low cost.
Only 1 complaint was king sized mattress was bad, had to sleep sideways( I will address with owner)
Hi Karen, thank you for the review. We have changed the king Size mattress after our conversations and I have looked to getting more trash bags and start up products for arrival. Glad you had a great time and it was our pleasure having you at our home.
The house was DIRTY! I wish I could post the photos I took but the review does not allow.
The Property Management Company (PMC) came in & did a surface clean but that was it. Once we got settled, spiderwebs started to come out, literally. Most corners were thick w/ spiderwebs & the carpets & walls are dirty w/ stains. The vents have inches of dust. The tile floors had debris everywhere. The coasters were covered in chunks of old food/beverage. “Clean” dishes had hard, stuck on food. The sheets on the beds were not washed as one pillow case had dried blood on it; not faded from after a wash but fresh from the last person.
On to the pool. I did work out a deal w/ the owner for pool heat & it wasn’t on, even the hot tub was cold. I called the PMC, who didn’t return my calls, & had to message the owner. The pool & hot tub were not warm until the 4th day. The hot tub had green algae around the tiles so we didn’t feel comfortable utilizing it. At first the pool didn't seem that dirty but once the kids got in, all the stuff from the bottom floated up. We were told the pool was cleaned weekly on Fridays but no one ever came to clean the pool our entire stay.
The house in general has a lot that needs to be repaired.
Why didn’t we just leave when we started to notice all the issues? Because the kids had already gotten settled, we had groceries put away, & I was unable to find another VRBO (with a pool) we could get for our whole stay, on such short notice. The kids were really looking forward to having their own pool, so a hotel wouldn’t have been the same. As I mentioned above, I did try contacting PMC & after 2 days of messages & no return calls, I gave up. I had already gone to Walmart & purchased disinfectant wipes, laundry soap & dish soap. I found the vacuum & broom & cleaned enough to where I was comfortable enough to stay there. I also washed all bed linens before using.
I took pictures of everything & time stamped to show they were taken as shortly after we got there. I sent all photos to the owner. The owner did not seem concerned about the condition as he said the PMC company said I never called to complain. The welcome book also says to contact the PMC company, not the owner. My phone records show I did call many times & show no return calls.
As a side note, the photo of the back yard (with balloon) is looking to the right. If you look to the left, there is a camper/trailer park on the opposite side of the field. A couple times when the waste was being disposed of, the smell was horrible & forced us inside.
Hello Danielle. It is disappointing you would put this review on here as I was in contact with you throughout your stay and just previous to your arrival to facilitate an earlier check in as your plans has changed.
With regards to the pool heat, you contacted me whilst you were there and I apologised for what was my error. The pool was still warm (85 degrees) as had only just been turned off from the last guest. But as I had made the error I refunded the pool heat you had paid and much more for your inconvenience at the time.
You first contacted me regarding the issues you had with the villa when you checked out. This gave me no chance or time to rectify any problem you had experienced through my management company even though we had been in contact during your stay. You are quite right it does say to contact the management company as they are there but as you had contacted me regarding the pool heat I would have expected you to let me know regarding any other issues via email.
To be clear, behind our villa is a conservation area and in the trees in the distance is thousand trails r v park. The area you are talking about has no residents staying there and is an area used to store motor homes. This is not close to the villa and is shielded by natural growth.
To say I was not interested in your complaint is not true. However you didn’t make me aware of any of the issues you found and this is frustrating for me as we were in contact. I had had guests in previously to your arrival who found the villa to be absolutely fine and again was in contact with them during their stay. It would be fair to say you asked for a full refund which I did not agree to but refunded the pool heat and extra for that inconvenience.
The villa is a superb place to base yourself for all the attractions that are in easy reach. The villa has all the amenities you could wish for to have a great holiday. Highly recommend this villa.
