About this property

Step out the back door on the third level to your patio with personal barbeque and sitting area which extends into a common courtyard (complete with communal BBQs) and the best resort pool and lounge area around! This unit is a gem at Playa del Sol, a family-favourite resort that keeps guests coming back year after year. The suite itself has just been completely renovated with new vinyl plank flooring throughout, sparkly white granite countertops, modern fixtures, custom lighting, and an overall fresh take on vacation rentals at the resort. There are two bedrooms with queens (one without a window), and two full baths to go along with a pullout couch in the living room. Playa Del Sol Resort is located in Kelowna Mission, just across the street from Hotel El Dorado, Cook Road Boat Launch, Manteo Resort, and Rotary Beach on Okanagan Lake, and a short distance from restaurants, shopping, wineries and many other attractions of the beautiful Okanagan. Playa del Sol is in a great location

Playa del Sol is in a great location - across from the lake, walking distance to Save On, some restaurants and shops. The complex has a nice pool, work out area and the unit had a nice patio/BBQ. This unit has recently been renovated, but the beautiful photos of the quartz counter and stylish decor were slightly misleading. It appeared the renovations were completed, but then no cleaning was done - if it was, the job was extremely poor. The toilet was dirty, the floor was filthy, the beautiful quartz counter had something stuck on it, the kitchen drawers had spills of ??? and a jumbled mess of utensils including broken pieces of spatulas, knives etc., the entrance wall had something spilled all the way down including on the electrical outlet. The space between the washer/dryer and wall was a filthy mess of dirt and dust. Odd they would not clean it when they installed the flooring. One bedside table top was damaged. Two of the patio chairs were falling apart. We had to get chairs from the common condo patio area. They seemed to cut a lot of corners with the workmanship and several things were left undone - painter's tape on the wall, areas that missed paint, chipped paint, blobs of glue ? or something on the cabinets. Another thing to be aware of is that one bedroom is more like a large closet with a bed - it does not have a window. It worked for our purposes, but it really should be stated in the advertisement. We looked for sheets to make the pull out bed. We found them high up in a box in the closet - still in the package!!! Usually sheets are washed and dried before using. These things were scratchy and stiff as a board until we could wash them ourselves. I reached out to Kerri with photos and comments about our concerns. (she checked us in. Upon arrival, we thought it strange that she barely acknowledged us - she stormed way ahead of us down the hall and just gave basic door lock instructions then left. Hardly a greeting and zero conversation. Very unlike other condo hosts we have had who are welcoming.) She did not respond to the cleaning issues. Omar and Brett also did not acknowledge the comments. It did seem a bit ridiculous for us to pay the cleaning fee when I cleaned the unit more than the 'cleaners' did. With improved cleaning and some attention to detail, this unit would be very nice. The lack of cleanliness and poor communication from the property management team is reflected in the rating.
