The Best Brooklyn Experience

5 Star rating doesn’t do true justice to this property or its hosts Lulu and Richard. Lulu truly was the kindest hostess with the mostest. Upon arrival, Lulu was waiting for us out the front of the gorgeous brown stone with a warm hug, fresh herbal tea, maps and information on local restaurants and all transport which she went through with us in great detail. We awoke each morning to home made fresh pastries, fruit and yogurt which was very unexpected but greatly appreciated. The property was immaculate and oozed character and was close to everything. Our only regret was that we didn’t book their home for our entire holiday. We can’t recommend this property or hosts highly enough!!! You truly will not find anything better in Brooklyn. Thank you once again from Dave and Sonja in Australia.

The property was very comfortable and spacious with a fantastic bathroom and high ceilings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Richard & Lulu's. They have to be the nicest most generous hosts we have come across. From the moment we walked in we felt so welcome. Lulu is an amazing baker, we had delicious treats and our breakfasts were so varied and colourful. We really were well looked after. I highly recommend staying here, the bed was very comfortable and the commute into Manhattan was very easy. We absolutely loved our 9 day stay in Brooklyn. They are the hosts of all hosts Thanks again

Wonderful home away from home!

6 of us (a family of 4, and a friend and her daughter), had a wonderful 4 night stay here. Richard and Lulu made us feel extremely welcome, and made sure we enjoyed our holiday. There were a number of highlights: . healthy and tasty breakfasts; . our laundry done daily; . extremely clean rooms; . comfortable beds; . quiet neighborhood; and . convenience to the subway. We'd been wrestling between staying in manhattan or on a subway line, and we're very happy to have decided on brooklyn. We can't recommend this place highly enough, and again would like to thank the hosts for their generosity and kindness.

Perfect neighborhood experience

This property is immaculate, and Lulu is attentive and helpful. I stayed with my daughters, who stayed on the pull-outs comfortably. We were provided fresh towels daily (if we wanted), and best of all was having breakfast provided daily (the fresh fruit was better than at home). We were given a map of both the neighborhood and NYC - both of which were wonderful to have. The neighborhood is a real Brooklyn neighborhood, which we enjoyed. We had a perfect stay and will return to this rental again!

Best VRBO stay in Brooklyn

My wife and I come to Brooklyn twice a year for the last 10 years and this our new favorite place. The owners were very helpful throughout our stay with updates on the weather and subway lines down. We also had the BEST hot chocolate since Italy on our first day there prepared by our host. Two subway lines within an easy 5 minute walk and felt safe in the neighborhood. Awesome shower and comfortable bed this place is definetly worth staying at!

Excellent Property!! 5+ Review!

LuLu and Richard were amazing! The property was extremely clean and having them on site was perfect. Each morning they made us breakfast (even gluten free scones!). We would HIGHLY recommend this property and will definitely book it on our next visit.

Little Touches Mean A lot

Our hosts were great! Lulu met us and went over the neighborhood and subway maps with us- so helpful! They had treats for us morning and night that were delicious and appreciated. We took advantage of Lulu and Richard’s restaurant recommendations and transportation tips. Finally, we were thankful for the little touches like bandages, umbrella, and milk for our coffee.

Would like to have stayed longer

Lulu was an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble. Nibbles on our return at night, water on the stairs when we left in the morning. A map and suggestions of things to do, excellent advice.

Das 2-Zimmer Appartement ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet mit hochwertigen Möbeln und sehr guten Betten. Das Badezimmer mit xxl Dusche und Badewanne tagesbelichtet. Die Vermieter sind herzlich und hilfsbereit. Morgens ein leckeres Frühstück mit frischem Obst, Joguhrt und Muffin o.ä. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden sicher wieder kommen.

First time in NYC

Our flight had been delayed. We kept in touch with Lulu and Richard. When we arrived Lulu met us at the door, helped carry our luggage up and then served us real hot cocoa and pastries. They were great hosts, the fresh fruit and yogurt every morning was wonderful. I would definately stay again.

Warm and delightful hosts

Lulu and Richard are the best! They were so helpful to us. All their restaurant recommendations were great, and Lulu even did a load of laundry for us! Oh, and the property is gorgeous. Second floor among the trees, sunlit, comfortable bed and beautiful bath. Fun and friendly neighborhood. We will definitely stay with them again.

Best little BnB in Brooklyn!

From the moment we arrived until we left, we found Lulu’s place a charming, cozy, restful haven. Lulu and Richard are the ultimate hosts, Showering us with snacks and treats and guiding us on where to go, what to do and how to get there. This was by far my best VRBO experience. We so appreciated coming back to the quiet brownstone at the end of our hectic busy days exploring Manhattan The rental was small but sufficient For my daughter and I. There is no kitchen but refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, Coffee maker and water dispenser are provided. The bed is heavenly comfortable and the bathroom modern. They pretty much have thought of everything: bottled water, sunglasses, ponchos and umbrellas available and a daily weather forecast on the chalkboard each morning. We can only hope it is available next time we come to visit NYC

Awesome awesome Brooklyn location!

Beautiful place in the heart of Brooklyn!! What a great stay with the nice surprises like Continental breakfast and in the afternoon sweet treats! Lots of windows with a great view plus a great selection of interesting books and deco style furniture. Lulu is very sweet and loaded with great suggestions on places to check out in the neighborhood 😃😃! Loved it!

Great Upstairs one bed apartment

Lulu was a great host, providing a light healthy breakfast and snack daily. The space was clean, and easy to get to and from activities and events using public transportation. Street parking can be tricky, but accessible. There are good restaurants in the area. We especially enjoyed Greedi, a vegan restaurant, and Sonora, a Mexican restaurant, walking distance from Lulu's home. We highly recommend this place.

Quaint brownstone with DELICIOUS food and luxury bathroom.

Host LuLu really took good care of us! THANK YOU!!! Beautiful, clean brownstone with yummy daily breakfast and evening treats. Fabulous shower (also huge tub available) to wash and relax after a busy exploration day. Unit is very well supplied for all your travel needs (and a little market is next store). Fresh towels provided daily (however, pack your own wash clothes). Only negative is that the rental unit has no lock (just the main entrance).

Vrbo versus hotel

This was a really nice, clean comfortable place to stay. On arrival it was easy to get into and speak with owners. Well explained directions on public transportation. Fresh orange juice, apple juice and milk In fridge, would have liked a colder fridge with ice but it's ok. Had a pastry waiting for us each nite and fruit,yogurt and a pastries each morning. If your staying in Brooklyn it's a safe nice neighborhood for all types of people even with kids. Convenience stores all around and subway really close by, would recommend this place for sure

Truly a home away from home!!!!

Truly a great place to stay in Brooklyn. Both the living room and the bedroom were beautiful and comfortable with lots of light coming through the large windows of the brownstone. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious with terrific shower heads and cozy bathtub. A Keurig machine, an assortment of teas, overhead fans, good reading lights, board games and an abundance of interesting books were all little touches making my stay fabulous!! I am grateful for the fabulous pastries, fresh fruit, etc. provided for us every morning, as well as more treats in the afternoon. We loved our 7 day stay! We enjoyed waking up every morning anticipating what our delicious breakfast treats were going to be! The rental was super comfortable, and the shower was amazing! Our two favorite things to look forward to at the end of a long day: 1. Having vegan meals at Greedi Kitchen, International Valley Market and Greedi Kitchen (no kitchenette) These eateries are literally less than 100 steps away from the front door. 2. Returning to a clean and cool comfortable home setting. Richard and Lulu have created a wonderful space. They took their hospitality to the next level with the breakfast, treats and the comforts of home (all bathroom necessities . It's the little things that make this place a special place to come back to! I will definitely be returning here on my NYC trips! This is our first try on Homeaway, domestically. Hotels in NYC or Brooklyn seemed too costly compared to this place. This B&B is definitely the best!!!! Gorgeous!!! LuLuRichard are kind and helpful. They provided us the temperature and weather forecast, everyday. You don’t get this welcomed feeling in hotels. Located in Brooklyn.... so you need to allow yourself to travel 30-40 mins to major sights in Manhattan. We are extremely happy. Street parking was not a problem. Richard and LuLu are great hosts. She even left a water for us each day when we left. Almond milk and juice left in fridge for us, too!! We are vegans and she made care to pay attention to our needs!!!! The only place to stay in Brooklyn!!!!

Brownstone in Brooklyn Neighborhood

Thanks to host for a lovely stay. Host was easy to communicate with. Especially enjoyed the breakfast & afternoon treats. Location was walkable to two subway stops. Neighborhood is in gentrifications process, we attended a block celebration one street over. Interesting process. Rental itself was spacious & very comfortable. Much more space than s NYC hotel.

What a wonderful stay!!!

Lulu and Richard were absolutely amazing! The pictures of the apartment on HomeAway's website are spot-on! Clean, with a home-like feeling. Lulu and Richard cater to your needs, providing fully equipped bathroom with toiletries and body wash, shampoo and conditioner, clean towels daily, a wonderful breakfast each day consisting of fresh fruits, yogurt, bagels, juices (orange and apple), assorted coffee and creamers, etc. Did I mention the chocolate cake??? TO DIE FOR!!!! My kids absolutely loved the cake! The shower -- immaculate! So refreshing after touring about the City, especially during the summer months. If I ever get an opportunity to visit NYC again, and Lulu and Richard's space is available, count me in as a repeat guest! Book with them, you WON'T regret it!

Beautiful place to stay in Brooklyn!

Our stay with Richard and Lulu was fantastic. Breakfast made fresh every morning, with homemade desserts at night that were phenomenal. Fresh towels and linens every day as well. They absolutely do everything that they can to make sure that you have everything you need to be comfortable, while showing you how to navigate the city if you've never been there before. This was my first time to NYC, and a special trip for my now fiancé and I since I proposed to her while we were there. Richard and Lulu were on-board with everything, and even prepared a bouquet of flowers for her before we arrived. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled the day we were originally supposed to fly out, but they were understanding and worked with us to make the trip happen as planned. I would recommend to anyone coming to New York City to consider their beautiful home as your place to stay, and we will be returning here whenever we are back in town.

Lovely host and a gorgeous apaetment

Lulu was so welcoming to us with fresh cookies and hot chocolate for us on arrival. Beautiful fresh fruit and breakfast every morning. Apartment is really top quality, the equivalent of a 5 star hotel I’d say. Beautiful furnishings and surroundings. Lovely modern bathroom with large shower and bath. Very comfortable bed and quiet. Handy for 2 close metro stops and a nice corner shop next door. We will stay here every time we come to NY. Lulu you are a star.

Great stay in Brooklyn

Had the 2nd floor of a nice brownstone. Very clean....nice remodeled bathroom...very comfy bed....on street parking was not a problem. Richard and LuLu are great hosts, very friendly. Nice breakfast each morning with some sort of danish and ample amount of delicious fruit. She even left a water for us each day when we left. Milk and juice left in small fridge for us. Even a nighttime snack waiting for us when we got back each evening. I love the chalkboard in the entry that allows notes to be left for each other, making communication a breeze if your schedules are not compatible. Even greeted us with a fresh baked cookie and real hot chocolate when we arrived. Next time we visit our daughter, we know where we are staying. Thanks!

The house was built in 1899 & remains in great condition. Guests will appreciate its charm and comfort.

This is a REAL neighborhood and everybody knows everyone. Children play outside safely.

What makes this property unique

What can I say, this is New York! We just had a film made on the story of Jackie Robinson, he grew up on our block. We have a lot of history here. Come and get a taste of it.
