This is a good place to stay if you’re looking for a camping, no frills stay.
We had some issues, though. When we arrived, the grass was over my knees, so there was no way we could safely have a fire the first night. We were a bit nervous about ticks and therefore didn’t walk to the water. I messaged the host and he had someone come by the following day and weedwack. We were able to have a fire that night, despite only 8 pieces of wood being dry enough to burn (we were supposed to have 12 and were directed to take more from under a tarp, but it was too wet to burn).
I was the first to shower and found a used bandaid stick to the side of the shower (ew) and there were used coffee grounds still in the coffee maker. The mattresses are not comfortable. And my biggest disappointment is that this property is listed as oceanfront, but the path to the water is uneven, unkempt, and not accessible for those with mobility issues. I wasn’t able to visit the water, which is a shame— that’s why we chose this rental! Overall, the property needs serious landscaping— broken and rotting trees, fallen branches, overgrowth, and roots everywhere… on a pretty sloped hill.
Those were the cons. The pros: very spacious and plenty of areas for friends and family to spread out. The appliances and heat work well and there are a ton of movies. Every floor has a balcony and fridge, which is very convenient. The owner is very responsive, too. It’s a nice drive to Acadia.
