About this property
Heal Love Now Farm Cottage
A lovely cottage in an historic African American community. Beautiful and bright with lots of loving, healing vibes. Loft bedroom with claw foot tub overlooking the sunlit main floor. The bamboo shower is outside in the organic garden and you’ll need a swimsuit to enjoy it’s cool waters.
The space
The fully renovated historic cottage has a loft bedroom with bathroom and open air claw foot tub upstairs. The only shower is outside in the garden and has cool water for bathing suit use.
Guest access
Parking is free on the relatively narrow street.
Other things to note
The wild garden is organic and all is free for your indulgence. Greens, herbs, flowers, etc. in the summer months.
We are currently working on spring cleaning in the garden and the neighborhood is undergoing a revitalization due to decades of City services neglect. Our commitment to bring positive light and love to one of the oldest Black areas in Norfolk keeps us excited to be active and engaged with Baraud Park. Come prepared to join the loads of guests who (with rose colored glasses) have joyfully interfaced with this legacy community. Our cottage is an oasis in an otherwise challenged
environment that deeply needs good vibes and gracious attention.
Please be aware that despite our best efforts, trash is sometimes thrown on the sidewalk by passerbys as there are no city trash cans unlike other more posh communities nearby. Party noise levels and activity can get raised on the weekends. Police cars profile for no apparent reasons...
These are all part and parcel of the experience in historic Black communities in America, which we are passionately committed to transforming.
Thank you for your patronage!
