Always amazing!
We are never let down when we stay at the cottage. Mona and Bryon’s attention to detail goes above and beyond. Beautiful setting. Great fishing. Comfortable cottage. So peaceful. We’ve been staying at the cottage every year since we were married there in 2014. We are never disappointed! Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us!

Lovely Cottage Stay!
My Fiance and I had a wonderful time staying at this lovely cottage! The property was beautiful and the cottage was cozy. We had a blast exploring the area and relaxing while watching the birds and chipmunks in the backyard. We will definitely be returning soon!

A Slice of Heaven
This was our third stay, and it was nothing short of amazing, as usual. Our first stay, in 2018, is when we got engaged. Our second stay, in 2019, was to celebrate our honeymoon. This stay, in 2023, was to celebrate our 4-year anniversary. From the first impression, to just this recent stay, the Campbell Farm cottage and property holds a very special place in our hearts and lives. The cottage is filled with all of the comforts of home and have a way of taking you back in time, when things were less hectic. Inside and out, Campbell Farm is absolutely one of the most beautiful, peaceful and comfortable places on earth. A true slice of heaven. As before, all of our senses were filled with the most beautiful sights, sounds and smells of nature all around. We loved seeing all of our wildlife friends again. They seemed to enjoy having us back. And the hosts, Mona & Bryon, are two of the most beautiful, pleasant and down-to-earth people we've ever met. We love Campbell Farm and everything about it! And we can't wait to go back!

Host profile image
My husband (Bryon) and I purchased the James Campbell Farm property in 1990 and spent many years restoring the original (1780's) log house as our home. Subsequently we have refurbished all of the farm buildings. We have planted 1000's of trees (mostly native species), created vegetable fruit, herb and flower gardens. In addition to raising much of what we eat we cut firewood on our sustainably managed forests and offer guests the opportunity to catch and release the fish in the pond. We also press cider in the fall and early in the year produce "wood-fired" maple syrup from trees on the property. -- Come and see how 'green' country life can be!

Why they chose this property

This old homestead used to provide multi-generations with food and shelter. In order to accomplish this the property had many buildings in addition to the log farmhouse and timber framed barn. Bryon and I decided to renovate and expand one of the buildings that we believe was used as a brooder house and turn it into a guest house. We are happy to give others the opportunity to enjoy 'our little piece of paradise.' Both U.S. and international guests have enjoyed the property and many visit multiple times per year to enjoy different seasons. It is a special joy to have guests return every year!

What makes this property unique

The cottage feels like it is 'tucked' into its very own 'special' spot. There are many types of bird feeders that attract a variety of birds. Flowerbeds attract butterflies. There are ducks, great blue heron and kingfisher on the pond. And on any given day you might see woodcock, ruffed grouse, wild turkey and white-tailed deer. If you are lucky you might hear a great horned owl, screech owl, or a coyote. The view from the dining area overlooks the pond, forests and mountains.
