So Gross and No Managment help
Upon arrival you notice the uncleaned carpets and flooring. Old tomato on the kitchen floor, dead cockroach and bugs and hair and dust behind bathroom doors. No furniture is ever moved there were pieces of trash and pills under one bed and dirt clumps under the coffee table. The recliner is broken. Furniture looks dirty and smells. Lucky us "clean" blankets were stored on the floor in the closets, like we'd use them after seeing all the bugs. There was a bag of dirty linens on the couch which could not be pulled out because the springs are broken in the bed. The master bedroom downstairs had old sheets from previous stays with lots of dead skin, dirty feet and hair. We had to wash dishes as we used them because they were dirty. I had to call someone to come out after hours when we discovered the gross sheets and a mason jar of pee because we couldn't even sleep in the unit. We were refunded our cleaning fee which is a joke anyway they clearly don't do anything. To top it off there was a water leak in the upstairs bathroom in the wall. When we showered we discovered that water was actually spurting from a hole in the ceiling and also seeping out of the basboards downstairs. Maintenance came right away and told us they had to cut open the ceiling. They were amazed that we hadn't caused the flooding questioning why the floor was dry but water was leaking. The management company couldn't move us so they told us we had to all use one bathroom. I did not pay nearly $1000 for 7 people to share one bathroom in a place where we had to call to get clean sheets and make our beds. The managment company conceded to have housekeeping come while we were out to clean. They did nothing. Counters, tables floors, and bugs were ALL still there. No idea what they actually did. DON"T STAY HERE! Don't use Mammoth Reservation Bureau. The "manager" is never able to contact us and we are still waiting to get any of this resolved. Worst stay ever in Mammoth. It was our first year not staying with Four Seasons and we will never try anything with Mammoth Reservation Bureau. I wish that I could post the pictures I took of what everything actually looked like. If you've already booked get your money back.
Fine, some issues
Generally, we love this property, and usually stay in another of the units (managed by someone else). Its nice, has a great hot tub, close to the gondola and the village, and has parking for a car or two.
We stayed over a long weekend in this unit and had some issues. They did not leave us the key to the spa/hot tub, which was a big hassle. We called many times and never got a called back. Given, that was the weekend of the big snow storm, but still an issue. Juan, the manager, had to let us in but made it clear that was not ok/to be repeated. There were a few other small things that we called about that they never fixed or helped us out about. The place was nice, generally as advertised, although they left few towels. They were also relatively accommodating of us having to leave our car for a few days (we lost they key). However, they seemed to forget that we had told them we would be back on the Friday, and called us threatening to tow. They didn't, and it ultimately worked out, but we had cleared it with Juan in advance.
Overall, I would not stay in this unit again as my first choice, as we had stated in other units in this property that were better organized and more comfortable. In the end however, we got to ski and enjoy our time.
