About this property

Located in charming Midway, KY. Unique restaurants and shops within walking distance, including Holly Hill, flagship of a world famous chef. Drive just outside of town and you are in the middle of the most famous and beautiful horse farms in the world. Drive to Rupp Arena, Kroger field, Keeneland, wineries, multiple bourbon distilleries, the KY Horse Park, and the state capitol all within 30 minutes or less. Hop on I 64 and be in Louisville or Red River Gorge in about an hour. Two bedrooms (one king, one queen) each with its own full bathroom and generous closet. Washer/dryer upstairs; full kitchen, dining and living area with French doors opening to deck downstairs. Half bath downstairs. Perfect for 2 couples or a family on a Keeneland, UK sports, bourbon tour or concert weekend. Or stay longer and explore all Kentucky has to offer making this very special spot your home base!

Guests must be able to climb a short set of stairs to reach the bedrooms. The staircase is standard, not steep, has handrails and wide enough for any size suitcase. This is not a historic property - it has plenty of charm and all the convenience of a modern home.

Great location for the Bourbon Trail and Horse Farms

Midway is a great little town with a number of dining options for a small town. Perfect location for heading to Lexington, Frankfort, or distilleries/horse farms. Quick, easy access to Interstate 64. The townhouse is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Plenty of room on the first floor with a nice deck off the living room area. Having basically two master bedrooms upstairs each with their own full bathroom is perfect for couples. Carmen is quick to respond to any questions you may have. Highly recommend this property.

Location Location Location

House was perfect for two couples and exactly as pictured. The host (Carmen) is very responsive to inquiries. The house is extremely clean and Carmen provides full size shampoos, conditioners and body wash which is very nice if you fly into Kentucky. Kitchen has basics and Carmen left a treat from the local bakery. The location is perfect for day trips to Frankfort, Lexington, Louisville and the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. Midway is a cute little town with lots of restaurants within walking distance to the townhome. As others have mentioned there is a railroad that runs behind the townhouse. My husband heard it the first night, but I sleep with ear plugs and didn’t hear it at all. Not sure of the train schedule but husband says he only heard two nights during our week stay. This is one of the best home away (VRBO) experiences we have had and we use VRBO during most of our travels.

Why they chose this property

We have owned this cute townhouse for 30 years. We lived in it as newlyweds and loved living in this charming, historic town. We have rented the property for several years since a job transfer took us to another town. We have had very few renters because all have loved this home and the location. When our last renter left after many, many years, we decided to try sharing this property with short term renters.

What makes this property unique

The property faces a community garden, is walking distance to beautiful shops and restaurants, within a short driving distance to all that central Kentucky has to offer. It is not a historic property, so it has all the modern conveniences with classic and charming style.
