Not as advertised, restrictive rules not mention until arrival, & they'll try to charge addl fees
Overall property fit our needs, but not as described. It's described as secluded & private, only after we booked & paid did we receive a long letter from the owner, with addl details that had we known, we would not have booked. BTW the letter came right before leaving on our trip. In it we were told there is a neighbor. Not only is there a neighbor, they are very close. In fact upon arrival the neighbor came over & explained his property line; which is within 15 yards of the front door. Furthermore, the 5 acres they mention, are mostly a deep-wooded ravine, so not the area to roam they indicate. Additionally, in the letter, they mention the neighbor has a dog that likes to visit, which is an understatement. The dog comes & goes as it pleases & jumps on everyone, although we love dogs, we did not rent to be dealing with someone else's dog, it was a nuisance. Also, we were told right before checking in that although the cabin had recently been cleaned, there may be a significant amount of Asian Beetles & if so we could use the vacuum to clean them up. Again, we did not rent a place to do the housekeeping. Upon arrival & entering we were greeted with over 20 post it notes stuck to the walls, with additional rules, specifically no food outside the kitchen, meaning no snacks in the family room with the TV. After checking out they tried to charge addl $100 saying excessive trash. We had family Christmas, of course extra trash. It seems they want to make the $ but over regulate use.
