My wife and I spent a week at the house and had a marvelous time. The evening sunsets viewed from the upper lanai were magical. Walk out the back door, a few steps across the lawn and then slip into the ocean for a swim...hard to beat!
Thank you so much for your review. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your time and the wonderful sunset views from the home. We would love to have you back if future travels bring you to the area.
A slice of heaven!
Our group was two couples who spent 4 nights at this lovely property in early December 2018. We arrived to check in just as the sun was setting on the first day and it was SPECTACULAR! The home itself is perfectly comfortable and quaint, with a fully-stocked kitchen, down to a very well-rounded spice/seasoning collection. There was an abundance of bath and beach towels, and a wonderful assortment of beach gear (chairs, beach bags, 2 coolers, several masks/snorkels/sets of fins, even a few pair of water shoes). I loved that there was so much seating available outside, including a hammock in the shade. We only used the grill once, but were so glad it was there. As mentioned above, the sunsets were amazing...no need to go anywhere else to watch them. And, later in the evening, star-gazing through the palm trees is a must! We really enjoyed watching the turtles swimming around right out front and even got to snorkel with them on the last day, which was a MAGICAL experience. We, of course, kept our distance as required, but loved being in the water with these beautiful creatures. As a beginner snorkeler, the tidepools in front of the home were a great introduction and contained so many different kinds of fish! We also snorkeled down the road at Hapuna Beach, which was also amazing (and there was also plenty of shade at this beach). Mary and the whole staff at Two Papayas were so wonderful to deal with, extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We felt very at home during our stay! If I'm lucky enough to re-visit the Big Island in the future, I would love to stay in the Beach Banyan again! Oh...one last tip....buy some Toasted Coconut rum (at Foodland at Mauna Lani) and put it in your Mai Tais!!
Thank you so much for your review. I am glad to hear you all such a great time. We would love to have you back if future travels bring you back to the area.

A Sea of Sea Turtles
The Beach Banyan House was wonderful. Views of the beach from every room (even 1 of the bathrooms). A pleasant breeze went through the house - keeping it cool with fresh air (no need for AC). Kitchen was fully stocked. Beds comfy. Beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and coral friendly sunscreen provided. Past the lawn is a beautiful area of tidepools, and a wonderful snorkel area that you share with sea turtles (all public access). Sandy beach only a couple of houses down. Green sea turtles have a resting pool/beach area 2 houses away. Take binoculars or good lens and you can see the fish cleaning the turtles (must stay 25 ft away and not disturb them). State beaches just a couple miles away. We shall return!
Thank you so much for your review. I am glad to hear you all enjoyed your time and safely enjoyed the sea life from a respectable distance. We would love to have you back if future travels bring you to the area.

Beach Banyon gave us the real Hawaii we remember. Snorkeled every morning, watched turtles swim by every afternoon. Enjoyed the lawn and beach lounges daily. Relaxed on the upstairs porch (which was huge) w/tropical cocktails each evening. House is fully equipped. Plenty of room for families. The management company was available at all times. Made friends with a few of the local home owners. They gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to snorkel. Everyone was so nice. Can't wait to go back to Beach Banyon! Mahalo to all...
Another trip to Paradise
This was our family's second time at Beach Banyon and we loved it just as much. Puako is a great area, close to big resorts and stores but super quiet without any crowds. The air wasn't as beautifully perfumed as usual due to the ongoing eruptions on the other side of the island but that didn't deter us. It's the perfect house for two couples and a kid (or two), with tidepools to explore and snorkeling right in front of the big grassy lawn, lovely walking along the coast to several hotels and sandy beaches. The house isn't overly fancy but has everything you would need. Beach chairs and coolers and extra fins and reef shoes, some toys for kids, games for evenings, well stocked kitchen appliances, etc. The property managers immediately dealt with a couple of issues that were the result of things out of their control, even on a Sunday. This place is great!
Thank you so much for your review. I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed your time at Beach Banyan and we hope to have you back in the future.

Ten Days in Paradise
Our family (two couples and one two year old) just enjoyed ten days at Beach Banyan, truly a paradise house and location. First of all, the house has everything we needed and more, from kitchen and all household amenities, to needed beach items like chairs and boogie boards. Every room is oriented towards the million dollar view. Snorkeling is right off the rocks right in front. You can walk to nearby hotels. The large lawn is great for kids and adults too.
A huge new BBQ is steps from the kitchen. Puako is a great neighborhood, quiet but convenient, with a small nearby store for last minute needs and just a couple of miles from a large grocery store. It's our third time staying in Puako and we love it. Beach Banyan is about as perfect as it gets. The rental agents make everything easy too.
