Welcome to the Hickory House! This historic 1927 house has been restored with modern amenities while keeping many timeless original features. Nestled in downtown Abilene, the Hickory House is steps away from two cafes, the Abilene Convention Center and many bars and restaurants including the Peacock Patio and Beehive Restaurant.

Enjoy fabulous west Texas sunsets on the enormous wraparound front porch or head upstairs to the game room which is a perfect space to host a sleepover!

Three bedroom downstairs with 1 king, 1 queen, and 1 double allow for a variety of sleeping arrangements. Head upstairs to 2 twin beds in the game room. Two separate vanities allow for plenty of space for family/friends to freshen up!

Guests will have access to the entire house, as well as the outdoor spaces and 6 parking spots.

Centrally located in downtown Abilene only steps away from shopping, bars, restaurants, and Abilene Convention Center. Minutes away from Hendrick Hospital, Abilene Christian University, and Hardin-Simmons University.

Off-street parking available for 6 cars. There is a driveway to the left of the home that multiple cars can park in. There are also 3 covered parking spots behind the house.

ACU Homecoming

The property is located so close to downtown and all the fun things. We had events at The Ice House and Convention Center and easily walked to them. The walk at night is a bit sketchy. We love everything about this little cottage except the bathroom. It sleeps 10, so if it had been more than my husband and I - that would be hard. The shower is terrible - it’s a cute tub but showering in it is like having 5-6 white sheets clinging to you at all times. I fought my way through it! Lol! We will stay here again.

Adorable historic home

We had a wonderful weekend, staying at the Hickory House in Downtown Abilene. My family of six, and I loved all the attention to details. Great location in downtown Abilene and easy walking distance to the café and coffee shops. The owner did a fabulous job stocking everything you could possibly need. My kids loved the playroom loft upstairs.

Absolutely beautiful!

We were so impressed with your home. You have created a welcoming space for all ages! The upstairs playroom was a hit with our grandkids. The location was spot on for visiting our daughter at HSU. This will be our go to home in Abilene from now on. Thank you.
