Eichler Mid Century Modern Designer Pool/Jacuzzi

Our Eichler home, designed by renowned architect Claude Oakland, showcases post-and-beam construction, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and tongue-and-groove ceilings with original stain. The floors are concrete and original terrazzo, while the walls feature mahogany and Eichler siding. The kitchen and bathrooms have been thoughtfully renovated, blending modern amenities with the home’s iconic design.

An internal atrium enhances the seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The backyard oasis features a saltwater pool with a Baja entry (heatable), an oversized jacuzzi (usable year-round), a gas fire pit, a built-in BBQ with counter and sink, an outdoor shower, and a modern treehouse.

Nestled in a quiet Thousand Oaks neighborhood on a large private lot backing to open space, the home offers a serene setting with frequent visits from rabbits, birds, and even our neighbors’ goats! Evenings are perfect for stargazing by the pool or cozying up by the fire pit.

For those who love to cook, the Jennair built-in fridge and stove elevate the experience. Traveling with little ones? We provide a kid’s bed with toys, a Pack ’n Play, and a high chair.

We love to host and assist with special occasions or travel recommendations.

Peaceful quiet neighborhood and fun vibe

We so enjoyed the Eichler house, with its vintage appeal, gorgeous landscaping, many zones to congregate and to be alone, comfortable beds, and big jacuzzi. Also, the well-lined kitchen, and thoughtfully renovated bathrooms were much appreciated. The hosts were available immediately by text. We would love to come back.

Family Celebration

Wow! Is all I can say. We traveled from the Bay Area for our daughter’s College Graduation from Cal Lutheran. We opted to stay in a rental instead of hotel so that we could gather together as a family and celebrate our daughter. This home is exceptional! Exactly as described, beautiful and private and so unique. Everyone enjoyed the time here and did not want to leave! The host was so available and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property for families.

A truly unique and special experience!

This property is incredibly well-preserved and beautiful. We were looking for a unique, Mid-Century home in SoCal for a long weekend - and this place exceeded all of our expectations. It has all of the modern conveniences - from fast WiFi to smart TV's, newer kitchen appliances and a digital lock on the front door - but you still feel like you're living in a restored 1960's house. The original floors, paneling and ceiling to floor glass are preserved and in great shape. The glass atrium garden in the center of the home that is a signature Eichler design, makes this house special. The back yard is tastefully upgraded and completely modern - with tiered living areas, a pebble tec pool and a very large spa - and the furniture is very comfortable. You will want to spend a lot of time out there. If you get a chance, climb up to the top of the back yard and take photos of the views. It is incredibly cool that this house backs up to an extinct volcano (Tarantula Hill)! Finally, the location couldn't be better. We visited the Regan Library, Malibu Lake, the coast and many of the SF Valley cities. The mall down the street from the house has a ton of shopping and great restaurant options. Overall, this is a very special offering that is memorable and unique. Living in this house and spending time on the property brings you back to the elegant 1960's - but in a modern and very comfortable way. Well done!
