Food and Music (they go together in Austin)
* Austin-only, inexpensive eateries: Home Slice Pizza by the slice; Jo's Coffee Shop for a nosh and iced caffeine; Magnolia Cafe has ample vegetarian options; and Guero's for Tex-Mex.
* Don't be daunted by the long line at Guero's; it moves fast: sip a refreshing margarita while dancing to their free live music while you wait. You'll see both the young Beautiful People partying with the young-at-heart Real Austin Hippies (with PhDs) any night of the week.
*Catch original music at our World Famous Continental Club or its more intimate cousin, C-Boys w/a deck for star-gazing after dancing to popular bands
Shops
Love shopping but not the credit card hangover? Congress Avenue has many enchanting original treasures you won't find anywhere else at all price points.
Ours shops give "Keep Austin Weird" its true meaning with its moderately priced gifts that are unique, fun, and embody our Austin culture with plenty of Hispanic, Cowboy, artists and musician elements.
Patrician tastes? check out our new Hermes on South Congress
Step back in time at our:
*antique shops featuring real ranch tools
*second-hand clothes with pearl snap shirts
*book stores with crafted, illustrated books you can't get on Kindle for your summer reading

The house sleeps up to 6 guests, with two full baths, plus two living areas. High-thread count cotton or bamboo sheets, down pillows and comforters (non-allergenic available upon request), and fluffy towels add to your and your guests' comfort.
Spacious for entertaining, with a generous kitchen, the house has a large back deck and a good-sized, private and surprisingly quiet back yard, rare in this area. Large, newly remodeled living room for great flow.
220 V for Car Charger.
Off-street parking is available for 3 vehicles, but you really don't need a car: you are in walking distance, a bike ride or a cheap cab ride to everything that makes Austin what it is! Bike rental stand is only a couple of blocks away.
Excursions
Take a quick car ride to nearby San Antonio (with a huge outlet mall on the way), to tube the Guadalupe River, to Hill Country wineries, etc.

About the host

Platinum Rule: "Treat others as THEY prefer to be treated."
Make special memories in one of my immaculate, cheerful, artistic homes walking distance to downtown Austin. I continually upgrade my homes with opulent linens, new king-sized mattresses, comfortable furniture, bigger TVs, faster internet, authentic antiques and uplifting artworks. I oversee the cleaning crew to ensure that every corner is clean, bedspreads are sanitized, and rugs are laundered. I am certified in property management to ensure your safety and comfort at a competitive price, yet I only manage the properties that I own to ensure that you receive personalized attention.
I often pamper you with something unexpected: fresh flowers, decadent chocolates, or pillow spray (which I discovered at the Andy Warhol Hotel in Berlin). Since my main home is often booked, I'm out travelling the world gaining new ideas in hospitality at STRs or boutique hotels. I am a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and and agent of Mayfair International Properties based in London.
I respect my neighbors by following Austin rules: my fully furnished corporate rentals are available 30 days+, whereas my licensed STR is available for one day at short notice. No parties after 10pm or before 7am, but a festive birthday, bachelorette, or graduation celebration is allowed. Sorry, no bachelor parties per my agreement with my neighbors.
I require a deposit but most all of my guests have received a complete refund. I also allowed recent victims of hurricanes to cancel, but please note my cancellation policy. I will consider anything within reason; just ask!

Why they chose this property
I bought this SoCo home for its location to everything hip yet site on a quiet, dead-end street. I renovated this 1940s home to create super high ceilings and an open living space that adjoins the patio. Walk to any type of attraction, from fine dining to funky food trailers, great music, spring-fed pools, hiking trails around the lake, and downtown. Easy walking or bus access to downtown.
Park your own car in the carport and avoid searching for a parking spot. Enjoy the tourist-friendly South Congress walking strip with its eclectic shops, art galleries, eateries, and music then stumble a few short blocks to relax in our peaceful home on a remarkably quiet street despite its central location. Enjoy the open space with friends and family preparing delicious meals to share in the vaulted, light-filled dining room or spacious deck.
Privacy: The home has two wings each with its own bathroom and access to outdoors for optimal privacy.
Neighborhood: The home sits in a historic neighborhood with friendly neighbors.
Nearby Attractions: Just north, along downtown, is Austin's famous Lady Bird Lake running trail. And the spring-fed Barton Springs Pool is must visit, located across from Zilker Park, the annual venue for the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
You can live here without a car; rapid, frequent bus lines on both Congress and South First whisk you to UT for a game (where parking can be a nightmare) or downtown to the Capitol; convenient to the airport, too

The master bath has a walk-in shower with spa shower heads. The saltillo tiles are cool and inviting. The kitchen opens to the deck and entertaining space. Newly remodeled with vaulted ceilings, large living room, and lots of natural light.
