Our Family Vacation in Heaven!
This was the BEST vacation house. Everything was CLEAN, it has everything you could possibly need. There were 5 boys ages 4, 9, 12, 14, & 16. The older boys all went kayaking. All the boys enjoyed riding the waves on the big boards that were given to them to use. They all really had a good time. We took a day and went to Mackinaw Island, we saw a Lumber Jack show.
The house has a real nice family room, there are games supplied. There are big windows facing the water, so you can see the beautiful view. The sunsets are beautiful! There is a fire pit which can be used to roast marshmallows and just enjoy.
The week we were there went by too fast. Hope we can do this again next year.. Barbara
Awe, thanks again Barbara! We are so happy to be able to share our little slice of Heaven up north with you and your family. As you know, you are always welcome back! :)
Great vacation spot
The house and property are directly on lake Michigan facing west with a constant breeze from across the water. The sand beach and very nice fire ring are shared with the cottage to the south. The amenities in the cottage are extensive. We didn't lack for any modern convenience except perhaps internet service. A week without wifi is really a vacation from distraction and that is what this place is all about... Our family included ages from 20 months to 70+ years. We managed the toddler with a gate to block the open stairs between floors and all was good :-) King bed on the second floor and queen bed on the first floor were great. The neighbors think this location is paradise and now we know why...
Ah, thank you! We are so glad you and your family had a good time. And thank you for sharing your personal perspective of the cottage. You're welcome back anytime!
Great cottage on a stunning Lake Michigan bay!
Smitty's Heaven was the perfect spot for a peaceful and relaxing family vacation. Trails End Bay is a truly special place -- essentially undistirbed and a true Northern Michigan experience. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very homey. Tons of outdoor seating and beautiful views -- nightly sunsets included -- make this the perfect place. We are already talking about returning for another stay.
A little Slice of Smitty Heaven
We had a great time. The Cabin is in a great location so you can spend time in the city or on the island if you want but my guess is you will probably spend most of your time on the beach or hanging out on the deck. Sunsets are not to be missed. The cottage is very clean and well laid out, you can easily fit two families (8 people) without feeling crowded. Brooke and Al were also great to work with, thanks for everything.
Thank you! We are so glad you and your family had a great time! That's what Smitty's Heaven is all about! :)
Beautiful and relaxing family vacation spot!
This was the perfect location for our family vacation. The house is spacious, very clean and well maintained, and has breathtaking views of the sunset over Lake Michigan. The beach is beautiful and peaceful - great for kids, big and small. It only took a few minutes to go into Mackinaw City where we could shop, eat, and explore the attractions, like the lighthouse and Fort Michilimackinac, and take the ferry to Mackinac Island. The owners were very thoughtful and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay. Smitty's Heaven is definitely a little piece of heaven!
Oh thank you so much! We are so glad you and your family had a great time!
Great vacation spot
Fun location. Very clean and comfortable home/cottage. We loved the private beach, beautiful Lake Michigan and fire pit. We would love to return next year.
We are so glad you and your family had a great time! Of course you are welcome back anytime... well almost anytime. You will need to check the calendar. :) Thanks again!
Enjoy all that Northern Michigan and the Mackinaw/St. Ignace area has to offer or retreat back to your own private haven set along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. With this area being a popular attraction rich with history there is a lot to entertain the family including; various restaurants, shopping, Mackinaw Island, Fort Mackinac, Mackinac State Historic Parks, the Headlands and Wilderness State Park (hiking), Historic Mill Creek, Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows, Thunder Falls Water Park, golfing, miniature golfing, parasailing, nightly laser light shows, movie theater, casino and much more. But that is just in the immediate area! Whitefish Point, Soo Locks, Garlyn Zoological Park, Tahquamenon Falls, and the beautiful scenic drive down old M-119 to Harbor Springs known as the Tunnel of Trees are just a fun day trip away. The choice is all yours!
