About this property

Lakefront cottage on Trout Lake at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.

Relax at a cozy lakeside cottage at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Trout Lake is conveniently located near the Canadian Border and Alexandria Bay - just 30 miles away! Enjoy all the North Country has to offer which includes swimming, boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing for rainbow/lake trout, large & small-mouth bass, perch, rock bass, and more. Take advantage of the untouched, forever wild NYS land which surrounds one-third (over 1,000 acres) of Trout Lake, as you hike, explore, and hunt (during the fall - maybe even catch some spectacular fall foliage)!

The handicap accessible cabin features an open floor plan, with a full kitchen and bathroom, spacious living room, and more. The first floor offers a bunk room with bunk beds (sleeps two), master bedroom (sleeps two), kitchen, full bath, dining area, and living room - which has a couch with a pullout bed (sleeps two). A loft provides sleeping accommodations for two. Other features include a covered porch overlooking the water, a fire pit to enjoy a campfire and s'mores, a boat launch that provides the opportunity to BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat & beer, of course), a dock to fish from, and a spacious yard to play yard games and enjoy the outdoors. Kayaks, paddle boards, an aluminum boat with a trolling motor, and life vests are also included. Other amenities include a gas grill and picnic table.

Take the boat out to enjoy the views and cool down, as there is muck/sediment at the bottom in the waterfront area. Most prefer to swim in the middle of the lake or at the sandy state beach.

Visit some of the hidden gems of the North Country…
-Hiking trails leading to multiple waterfalls (Lampson Falls, Harper Falls, Rainbow Falls, etc.)
-Easy access to the Thousand Island Region (Clayton, Alex Bay, Sackets Harbor)
-Local wineries on the Thousand Island Winery Trail
-Scenic dinner cruise and/or boat tours along the St. Lawrence River
-White Water Rafting on the Black River (Watertown, NY)
-St. Lawrence University Golf Course & Partridge Golf Course
-Lake Placid Olympic Village

So happy with this place!
This place was a perfect home away from home while we visited some friends in the north country. This home is deceptive - it looks small from the outside but it’s perfectly spacious inside. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and bake/cookware, the views were lovely, and the whole place was clean as a whistle. Highly recommend that you stay here if you get the chance!

Hidden Gem
We stayed at this lovely Trout Lake cottage while visiting our son who attends SLU. The property is well cared for inside and out. The owners are prompt and easy to communicate with. The cottage is super clean, as if it’s brand new, and had everything we needed to feel at home and entertained! We had all our meals at the cottage. Enjoyed the smart TV, board games, and would love to come back again and use the kayaks and trolling boat to explore Trout Lake. We enjoyed relaxing and bird watching on the back porch overlooking the lake. The cottage is spacious, more than it appears from the outside. It was the perfect place for us to spend quality time with our son.

Relaxing escape with included activities
The property was well kept and clean. The space was perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed the included paddle boards, kayaks, and trolling boat. Also, thoughtful touches were provided like fresh flowers and a s’mores kit, as well as plenty of toilet paper, towels, and trash bags. The hosts were responsive to our questions. Overall, a great getaway for our family.

A Great stay
Place was amazing we booked for 2 nights but ended up staying 3 nights….. We had the opportunity to meet the family of the cottage and they are super friendly and yiu can tell they really do care about your stay. My Wife is a coffee lover and she was in love with the coffee bar, first place that offered a coffee bar and she enjoyed it…. The toys was amazing, we went fishing, kayaking, life jackets, paddles board, the kids loved it….everyday they were out having fun. We stayed an extra day and needed towels as the kids were constantly in and out of the water and the owner were super nice to drop off a few. We love this place and will book again for sure
