Unexpected
The home itself was cool. The house upon arrival was dirty, marks everywhere and holes were in the walls floors were filthy, bedding had not been changed. I found a used comb underneath the pillow and the sheets I saw that it seems as if someone had messed up the bedding. There was items in the freezer from the previous owners and also a dead roach upon walking in the front door. I took videos and notified the host and he offered to either refund me eight percent of my total or to get a full refund and cancel my reservation . I had people coming from out of town to have a surprise dinner and that would have been a huge inconvenience. I asked if they could have the cleaning crew come by but they said it was too short notice and they couldn’t clean the home. I didn’t feel comfortable staying there the entire time due to the condition of the cleanliness of the home. I felt as if I am spending all of that money I should at least have a clean home to rent. I tried to contact the host prior to check in about the information on how to properly check in and I didn’t receive the details until I asked multiple times and I received the information 30 minutes before I was supposed to check in.
