The River Retreat - multiple views of Chickahominy River

Clean, fresh, and plenty of space — 4 bedrooms / 4 full baths in a relaxing setting.

Three bedrooms have full ensuites and the 4th bedroom is across the hall from the 4th full bathroom.

The primary bedroom with its king, is the only 2nd floor room, overlooking the large, yet cozy living room. Primary’s bath includes two shower heads – typical wall shower and an overhead rain shower. The primary bedroom includes panoramic views of the Chickahominy River – sunsets and sunrises.

The main floor’s bedrooms include 1 queen and 3 twin beds. The smallest bedroom has a writing desk and 1 twin bed. The largest 1st floor bedroom has 1 queen. This bedroom also has a 50” LG TV. The middle size bedroom has 2 twins.

The fully stocked gourmet kitchen is complete with custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The countertop breakfast bar seats 4 and flows into the dining area with additional seating for 10. The open concept first floor continues into the living room with multiple seating and lounging options and 60" LG TV.

Need to relax after a long day at Busch Gardens, Water Country USA or Colonial Williamsburg then sit back on the front stoop overlooking the Chickahominy River or gather around the fire pit out back that overlooks breezy Chickahominy marshlands.

The large eat in kitchen/dining area – the heart of this home – is our favorite for morning coffee, family meals, and contentious family game nights.

Neighborhood includes 2 marinas - one with Taylor's Restaurant, a local boaters' meeting spot (open from May - Sep). Both marinas offer pontoon boats to rent or drop your own boat in via the nearby public boat ramp. Striped Bass fishing tournament every Thursday night from May – Sep.

Though rural, this home is in the perfect vacation destination - 30/40 mins to most attractions. Enjoy a few days at exciting Busch Gardens or wet & wild Water Country USA. Satisfy your historic curiosity with a trip to Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, or Jamestown. Stop by the Williamsburg Winery for scrumptious lunch and of course, Virgina wines.

Great place for a relaxing time away

Some friends from VA, MD, and NC met together at this place for a chance to relax and hang out together. We had a toddler with us and the layout of the house allowed for privacy for the family when needed and plenty of space for the rest of us to hang out. The kitchen and dining area were very big and perfect for cooking and having meals together. Unfortunately, it rained for most of our stay, so we didn't get to explore the property or neighborhood much. It was about a 30 minute drive to Williamsburg which was nice for us to get out and about. Keith was super nice and very responsive to any question I had in the time leading up to our trip! Great place!

We are originally from the Williamsburg area. After traveling and living abroad for many years, we chose to return to Virginia. Our River Retreat is just that - a retreat for our family. We love being in the "country", doing small projects around the yard, jogging in the morning, fishing as the sun sets and capping it all off with Virginia Red.

Why they chose this property

Though, we are not directly on the river, we love sitting on our small front stoop in the morning sharing a coffe while watching sport fishermen motor out to their favorite spots. And as we don't own a boat, we enjoy going out back through the woods to the marsh area to catch our own striped bass. Plus our neighbors are awesome!
