We call our beautiful apartment: "The Turtles' Dream". It truly is a Roman Dream come true: if you want to experience a memorable visit of Rome, of its history, its charms, views, sights, you've come to right place.
The apartment includes 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an amazing sitting room, a most ample dining room / kitchen, two terraces of which one highly panoramic with amazing views of Rome's sights and domes. It located in an authentic historical noble palace, right in the center of Rome, between Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, the Pantheon, the Jewish Ghetto, and Rome Capitol Hill and the Roman Forum. It couldn't be more central than this! The icing on the cake is that the apartment faces the famous Turtles fountain, which can be seen from all its windows. Seen from the fountain, instead, the apartment stretches on all the top floor of the palace. This fountain is one of Rome's most famous, and it is situated like the palace in the square called Piazza Mattei.
The apartment, endowed with elevator is situated on the high floor of the famous palace "Palazzo Costaguti", which you can find described in all history / architecture websites about Rome (just make a search in Google!). The owners purchased the palace in 1578 (!), and since then they are renowned to be most hospitable and kindest hosts. When asked, they always have one more anecdote to mention about the history of their family, which coincides with that of Rome. They are very serious in keeping their commitments, and a pleasure to know.
As mentioned the apartment is situated on the high floor of the palace, with excellent view from the windows of the Turtle Fountain, and also of ancient palazzi (Palazzo Mattei), churches (for ex. Church of Santa Maria in Campitelli), and also of old Rome's roofs. You also have two terraces: one highly panoramic, where you can bask under the sun or have meals "al fresco" amidst amazing views of Rome's domes and sights, and a second one, still with table, ideal to relax with a cup of tea after sightseeing, or to write emails.
The apartment is 210 Sq. Mts. (app. 2,250 Sq. Ft.) large, it is situated at the 3rd European floor (because it is an old-fashioned palace, it is equal to a 4th European floor or 5th American), as mentioned with *elevator*. It is quiet, and very bright.
The property was just perfectly renovated. Each room is wonderful in its own right, with beautiful tiles, décor, furniture, paintings of old masters.
The sitting room is a delight for the eyes: its décor is original late Renaissance (16th century). It has the original coffered wooden ceilings, and each of the 168 "lacunars" or coffered frames has a painting displaying a different species of birds. In the walls you find finest frescoes of peacocks, interleaved with the intriguing coat of arms of the patrician family.
The dining room is very spacious, and together with the large kitchen makes one larger space of app. 36 square meters (380 square feet).
The floors of the property are also spectacular, with original "graniglia" Italian tiles with beautiful design (nearly unobtainable nowadays), different in all the rooms.
All four double bedrooms have a peculiar charm, and from them you can have a direct view of the famous fountain below (you can also hear its gushing water if you open the windows).
EQUIPMENT
Naturally the apartment is equipped with perfectly working fast speed internet Wi-Fi. It is also equipped with all mod cons:

FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS
We strive to improve the property all the time. We placed full person mirrors in each room, armchairs in the master bedroom, more paintings, a safe, more elegant curtains and bed side tables in the bedrooms. In the terrace / roof garden we placed: two large cabinets including a fridge/freezer in one, and dishes, glasses, cutlery, ice-bucket and carafe in the other. Recently we also put THREE MAPS (each with a fine frame and glass): one of all Rome, one about old Rome's center, and one about Rome's surroundings.
LOCATION
Piazza Mattei / Tortoises apartment are located in the perfect heart of Rome, between the Campo de' Fiori and the Jewish Ghetto, near Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, and also close to the Roman Forum. These famous central districts have a completely different personality: Piazza Navona is centered around the elegant square, its marvellous fountains and churches, and it is renowned for its chic, Dolce Vita atmosphere. Campo de' Fiori is Rome's liveliest area, with its morning market, its grocery shops, and as mentioned its bohemian character. The Jewish Ghetto is uniquely intriguing, for its bi-millenary inhabitants and old Roman traditions, its historical shops / restaurants / and also its Jewish sights (the main synagogue, Rome's Jewish Museum etc.).
In the end, the property is situated in a uniquely quintessential, central Rome location.
We anticipate the pleasure of hosting you, and to make your Rome experience truly memorable!
