As advertised in listing: quaint, quiet, clean.
We weren’t there at the house much mainly yet sleep there.
Cute town. Nice restaurants down town with the all the shops and galleries. From Acadia park down the road we got to see the winter harbor Lighthouse and down the road was another one as well. Easy to get around with beautiful views
Peaceful and relaxing!
Emily was very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The cottage was very clean, roomy, and comfortable. The bedroom was beautiful. The view out the back windows of woods and gardens was lovely! Winter Harbor is a pleasant walk away and the shore is also within walking distance. If you need a little more excitement, you can take a ferry to Bar Harbor. I've gone to Acadia before. I liked the peace and quiet of Schoodic Point and there are some lovely hiking trails there.
winter harbor cottages
lovely people lovely antique furniture...need to upgrade parlor stove..would have loved it if they had wood burning stove instead of propane stove. Love the aroma of a wood burning fireplace......area is gorgeous..few good restaurants especially Pickled Wringle which is just a few miles away
Cozy Cottage in woodsy setting
We were on a girl's getaway to Acadia National Park in Maine and we stayed in this adorable cottage that was perfect for us. It is nestled in a woodsy environment, near the water so we could walk or drive to see the sun set on the water. We could see a deer and a fat rabbit in the yard as we drank our morning coffee! The cottage has everything one would need and it is spotlessly clean. It is furnished tastefully and comfortably. We received very helpful advice from the rental agent about how to get there, and what to see and do in this gorgeous area. We highly recommend this cute cottage as an ideal place to enjoy the area and relax.
A cozy cottage in lovely Winter Harbor
Emily's cottage was perfect for our three week stay in Winter Harbor. It is well laid out, comfortable and functional. The bedroom and dining area look out at a well-tended garden in front of the woods. We were visited by hummingbirds, a porcupine and a rabbit, as well as multiple red squirrels. The area is quiet but within walking distance of the small commercial center of Winter Harbor and within driving distance of the Schoodic division of Acadia National Park. The gas fire in the sitting/dining area was perfect to take the chill off in the mornings. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped, especially for guests who stay only a few days. We very much appreciated Emily replacing the tea kettle when it sprang a leak. As longer term renters, we would have enjoyed a few additions to the kitchen, such as a colander and larger cooking utensils. We also would have enjoyed a reading light in the sitting/dining area. But overall, very happy with our stay and hoping to return.
Acadia National Park - 'Schoodic Peninsula' is 5 minutes from cottage and is spectacular!
Come celebrate Acadia National Park both in Winter Harbor and Bar Harbor.
