About this property

Spectacular Skagit Bay Beach House with Dramatic Views

Comfortable 4 bedroom 2 bath home on a spacious double lot. This is situated on a point with a sweeping water front view where you can see both the sun rise and the sunset. The main floor has a newly remodeled open floor plan. The kitchen has stainless appliances, a gas stove, an island and lots of kitchen gadgets. The downstairs entry and bathroom floors as well as the shower are all tiled in slate. The downstairs bathroom has a glass door handicap accessible walk in shower.

This home is a beloved waterfront getaway at the end of a private lane with access to a secluded lovely cove beach. The setting is absolutely gorgeous with dynamic dramatic Pacific Northwest waterfront views. It is surrounded by water, islands, mountains, and abundant wildlife. Casual and comfortable with a Pacific Northwest feel, it's decorated with Pendleton blankets and regional art. The well equipped kitchen includes a cuisinart, kitchenaid mixer, cast iron and caphelon pots and pans.
The house sleeps 9in four bedrooms, each with water and island views. The downstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and a twin size daybed/ sofa. The downstairs is handicapped accessible, although currently the bed maybe considered high. We do have plabs to change that soon. Upstairs the bedrooms are furnished with one queen bed, one double bed and one twin trundle bed. The two larger upstairs bedrooms have beautiful waterfront views that can be easily enjoyed from the comfort of bed. The full upstairs bathroom has a shower. The downstairs bath with shower and a washer and dryer.
The open plan living space includes a large extendable dining table that can seat 10 for meals with family and friends and comfortable chairs and sofas for daytime and evening lounging. Bookcases are filled with a wide range of reading choices, from field guides and cookbooks to classics of fiction and non-fiction as well as boxes of games and puzzles for family fun.
A partly covered south facing deck provides a grand view of Martha's Bay, the North Fork of the Skagit River, the Swinomish Channel and its myriad boat traffic, and the many islands of Skagit Bay. The deck offers excellent bird watching as the tides shift, with great blue herons moving onto their feeding grounds as the water recedes, and then replaced by ducks, geese, and gulls when it returns. Eagles often fish out over the bay, and before and after fishing perch in fir trees next to the house. Seals follow schools of fish as they return on incoming tides, as do families of river otters. Dot Island, just offshore, is the home and nesting site for oyster catchers, who can often be heard from the house. The deck has tables and chairs and a gas grill for outdoor cooking and dining. A large steel artisan made firepit in the west side yard can be used for evening fires and roasts.
Excellent bay and estuary kayaking are a short carry and a few steps down to the adjoining cove. There is a boat launch under the Rainbow bridge which is about 5 minutes away. Certain areas get very shallow at low tide so knowing the waters is a good idea. There is plenty of parking for a vehicle with a trailored boat. There is water in the cove from mid-tide and above, so tide tables must be consulted when planning trips! The cove is also an excellent place for children to explore and play under adult supervision.
The point adjacent to the cove provides a unique and commanding 270 degree view, east up the Swinomish Channel to Hole in the Wall and the entrance to La Conner, beyond to the channels of the North Fork of the Skagit, south past Goat Island to Camano Island, west to Whidby Island, and north past the Dead Man Islands and Hope Island towards the hidden passage of Deception Pass. Tides and water levels change dramatically twice a day affording ever changing views.
The home is equipped with internet/wifi, cable TV, a DVD player and a CD player/radio.

Outstanding setting and a comfortable home
The pictures don’t tell the full story. This home is magic! The setting is awe inspiring, with views of the bay, islands and mountains on three sides! A 3 minute walk to a sheltered cove. Inside the accommodations are charming and super comfortable. Our group slept on each bed and gave each a thumbs up. The upstairs shower is a bit small, but downstairs one is large and modern. Kitchen is large and has more than all you need. We extensively used the fire pit outside and lounged on the back deck watching eagles, herons and flycatchers. Thank you Martin for a wonderful experience.

Fantastic view!
The beautiful location is unsurpassed! However, the listing stated two queen beds, in the bedrooms, but there was only one. There were half the beds we expected, so we had to use couches as we were a group of women, some of whom were not comfortable sharing beds with wiggly others. The house is actually nicer than the photos looked! The Pendleton blankets were fantastic! Comfortable in quality linens, well appointed kitchen, but nothing could beat the location! The view of the water was perfect, we even saw an otter!

Serene Paradise
The house is located 20 minutes away from all major stores, hospitals, churches, etc. Excellent local restaurants (COA Mexican takeout was fantastic!) and other shops are 7-10 min away. The house was immaculate and very well stocked. The views are simply breathtaking, which are the first thing you see when you wake up. This property provided the peace and serenity we needed during a very difficult time and the communication with the host was excellent. We are already planning the next visit to relax and enjoy the magnificent surroundings and the tulips! Do yourself a favor and book this home! ER
