About this property

Cottage is nestled under ancient 300 year old oak tree 1.47 acre wooded property with several variety of chickens breeds, White ducks, Mandarin Ducks, Golden Pheasants, quails, the pigs, Peppa and George, South American Poison Dart Frogs (they are not poisonous), Turtles and a Panther Chameleon greenhouse cabin" you can go inside and relax in their tropical environment. Fresh Chicken eggs will be provided in fridge if they are in season. Cottage has been completely renovated with three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and a screen covered patio to enjoy the sounds of frogs/crickets at night without the invasion of wildlife. Downstairs is the Master with a Queen bed and TV. One room upstairs has two twin beds, that can be pushed together if need. The upstairs with the twin beds also has TONS of toys to play with if you have little ones. The third bedroom is also upstairs and has a Queen bed and TV. All rooms have wooded views. Family room has a Queen sleeper couch with Seeley mattress and TV with DVD player. Wi-fi is included, TV's are hooked up to Roku for watching Movies, news, sports etc. Kitchen is stocked with supplies, if there is something missing we can get it for you. We do not live in the house, this house is strictly for Vrbo use, no one lives in it, so everything in the house is for your use and enjoyment. Cottage is 5 minutes from Saint Johns River, Alpine Grove park is a beautiful place with a giant playground for children, hiking trails, picnic tables, an old historic farmhouse and boardwalk river views. Shopping and restaurants are under 10 minutes away and I-295 is about 15 minutes away. So you are in a rural area but not far from conveniences. There will be some Bicycles and a Burley in the Garage for riding around the area, in the neighborhood there are lots of side streets with views of donkey's, goats, pigs, and horses. If Ocean is what you are looking for, Mickler Beach is about 34 minutes away. Jacksonville Beach is about 37 minutes away and Historic Saint Augustine is about 42 minutes away.

Great Wedding Weekend Getaway

Beautiful home with truly thoughtful amenities including fresh eggs from the farm on the property. Host communicates effectively and responds quickly to questions. She even let us know that her place was clean and ready to go earlier than expected just in case we wanted to check in early! Great stay. We highly recommend it! Five stars just don’t say enough.

Wonderful stay with family and pets!

We had a fantastic stay with our family and dogs!! The house is very clean, quiet, comfortable and well stocked. The little farm was great and the kids really enjoyed it! Will definitely stay again.

I wish we could have stayed longer

This location was GREAT! The property was a little hidden, but it was great to be secluded. The farm animals were a real treat! Our kids loved them and so did the dog. She was as interested as they were. It was great to see such a clean property for having so many animals. We were even greeted with fresh eggs and a basket of treats, which was perfect for when we arrived late in the afternoon. All in all it was a great stay. If I’m ever in the Jacksonville area I will Deff stay again. The host answered back quickly to all the questions I had.

Wonderful time at the Hobby Farm

We were in town to visit family and 4 adults stayed at the cottage on the farm, which is nicely appointed with plenty of any thing we might need. We brought my nieces children and the rest of the family to visit the farm critters, We all loved visiting the animals, Crystal was a wonderful host and very easy to communicate with. I will definitely return to stay at the Hobby Farm, Its a delight for all ages.

Originally grew up on 5 wooded acres In Washington State where I learned to love animals, since then I have lived in HOA communities raising our two young kids and wanted a place where I could share my enjoyment of the woods and animals with our kids and everyone else.

Why they chose this property

It's peaceful and scenic. Lots of friendly folk around. Just a great place to unwind!

What makes this property unique

Well for one, we have a storybook looking house in the woods, that is very modern on the inside. Surrounded by nature and domestic animals. A greenhouse that has Madagascar Panther Chameleons crawling around, fascinating South American Dart frogs in your living room and Mini Pigs (Peppa and George) a few short steps from the front door. You are on 1.47 acres of woods with Chickens, ducks, including Mandarin and golden pheasants. You get as many Fresh Chicken eggs as you want, you can even have duck and quail eggs if you choose. Your provided with a variety of bike sizes and helmets for exploring the neighborhood. The house is strictly for VRBO use, so every drawer, door and item you find is for your use and enjoyment while there. There are 3 TV's with movies and 5000 Stations through Roku and free Wi-fi. There is a DVD player. Kitchen is fully stocked with supplies, if you are missing something, simply let us know. Even though you are in the woods, restaurants, grocery and shopping are just minutes away. I highly recommend checking out Alpine Grove Park by the river which is about 3 minutes away.
