The location was perfect for us. Our son attends The Citadel and we were only 5-10 minutes away
This was a wonderful (although hot) get away. The town was beautiful and people very nice. The apartment was just as described. It was easy to get around from that location, and great to have parking on site.
Would have liked to read a short history of the property.
Good stay, little expensive.
We had a good stay at this apartment. The rooms were on either side of the apartment which gave each couple some privacy. It was pretty small and not very comfy to hang out there but it was a convenient place to come back to sleep at. Definitely old and in need of some updating, which for the most part we assumed, but I dont think I would pay what we did to come back again.
Our photos are true to every detail. We do not have a sofa. We have a lovely porch with wicker chairs and rockers. Our prices are set by market monitor through VRBO.
Wish there was a little more comfortable furniture in the common room but over all had a nice stay
Up and coming neighborhood
The house itself was clean, but had a musty smell. The rooms were a nice size, but the front bedroom gets a lot of street noise and light from a very bright street light. During a thunderstorm, we noticed a leak in the roof in the front bedroom. That is also when we noticed the condition of the wall in the bedroom-cracked and moldy with severe water damage. When we contacted the owner, we did not receive a response until the next morning, an unsatisfactory response at that. The house needs more outside lighting for safety purposes and the living room furniture is quite uncomfortable. Construction on the house next door begins every morning at 7:30 am, so there is no sleeping in. The neighborhood is a little hit and miss with places to eat and relax-some, like King Street, is quite a walk, especially in the heat. The bathroom was a little small and only four towels were available for two guest for four nights. Very disappointing for the amount we paid for the rental.
This guest did not understand the plaster wall with its patina. She mistook it for recent damage. The wall dates back to 1830 and it is not and has never been during the past 20 years I owned the house - moldy. We contacted her during her stay and she reported everything was good. We had a bad storm around 10:00 at night the night before she checked out. There was a small leak by the fireplace. The guests who stayed after her had no problem with the small stain. Charleston is a living city. When neighbors want to make repairs it is allowed by city ordinance between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Very disappointing as a guest.
this was our second time staying at the house. excellent location and cozy place to stay
