About Carson E. Hall
I am employed by the nuclear industry and really enjoy going to our little spot of heaven in Murphy. The previous owner said her brother called this area 'the garden spot of the world'. He had traveled all over the world; but, considered this the most beautiful area. She was born and raised on the property and her father told of the Cherokee Indians living here before them and that the Cherokee indians washed their clothes on a flat rock in the creek. The rock is still there.
Carson E. Hall purchased this Chalet in 1994
Why Carson E. Hall chose Murphy
I always wanted to live in the mountains of North Carolina....and found this beautiful vacation spot.
What makes this Chalet unique
Relaxing on the creek with a cold one/ or if you dare get in the creek - the cold water is awesome!

A Perfect Fit
I booked this property for my parents and I to stay in while we waited to close on their new cabin in Murphy, NC. Jackie provided a ton of wonderful information promptly to us- directions to the property, WiFi information, and information about the local refuse station. She was easily reachable at any time on the property and was able to accommodate us even after our closing date got delayed. My parents, their dogs, and I were completely comfortable and happy during our entire stay. The laundry facilities worked wonderfully, and the property maintained a great temperature in the warm Murphy summer. We can't say enough about how thankful we are to Jackie for providing us somewhere to land to begin our life in Murphy! We would recommend this rental to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable to stay that will quickly feel like a second home.
Great Little Getaway!
Cool and clean little getaway. Loved the meandering creek out front and the privacy of the woods in back. Also enjoyed watching all of the fireflies at night. Location was perfect. Close enough to Murphy for convenience, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town. Laundry room with washer and dryer came in very handy for our three rafting trips. Wi-Fi, DirecTV, and the kitchen with full-size refrigerator and stove also came in very handy. Plenty of room. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
Thanks so much for your great review! We are do glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back for a return visit!
As Always, Love This Little Place. It May Have Some Age, but is Quaint, Comfortable, Clean & has Everything You Could Need. The Owner is Great to Deal With & Quickly Responsive to Our Needs. Thanks Jackie!
Thank you so much for your great review! We loved having you and look forward to your next visit!
Older trailer / poor management
This is an older trailer that needs some TLC. My family has stayed in plenty vrbo homes without any problems. We always make it a point to leave the place we are staying in cleaner than when we got there and this time was no different. They cut the grass just before we arrived so we were vacuuming inside daily. We were not able to take the trash down the road to the drop off place because we left too early in the morning so we left it inside. We also had a little accident with a shirt that bleed light blue onto a bath towel but if they cleaned with bleach it would come right off. There is a little door from the stairs looking in the master bedroom with a broken hinge that we had nothing to do with. All three of those issues and the owner decided she would only refund a very small portion of our deposit! I could see keeping a small amount for the trash and towel but most of the deposit is ridiculous! She is obviously just trying to make more money. If you stay here don't expect your full deposit back. It's old, a little on the nasty side, not enough hot water for 4 people to shower and they keep your deposit. There are plenty of better places in the area to not need to deal with this place!
This review is not really true; but, I kind of expected it from this person. My property was damaged, probably by one of the children. Somehow, a small puncture was made in the shower area (which has since been repaired). In order for that to happen, one of the children must have thrown something at it. The garbage was not dropped off at the solid waste facility as is required. My housekeeper does an excellent job with the laundry, but was unable to bleach the towel clean. My housekeeper keeps the cabin spotless! A hula hoop was found along with a dishrag on top of one of the kitchen cabinets. And the cabinet door looking into the master bedroom was hanging. It's hard to imagine how that happened since one would probably have to jump from the loft over to the window in order to damage it...but, somehow, someone managed to damage it. As far as keeping deposits, I think this is only the second time since 2011 that I have had to keep any of the damage deposit for repairs. I am very sorry that this guest feels the way he does; and, I have critiqued this tenant to the vrbo management. I have many return customers year after year.
Perfect Size, Perfect Weekend
Loved the space and our dog even made some new dog friends while we were there!
Thank you for the great review!
We really enjoyed having you for our guest and hope you and your dog will come back to see us! Smiles!
Such a sweet amazing clean little home, just what the doctor ordered! Surroundings were so peaceful, with the exception of a few very cold nights it was perfect.
Thanks for your great review! We look forward to you visiting with us again!
