Tiny Cabin on Quiet Street
This 1960's 2-bedroom cabin is no frills but decent price. We rented it predominantly for the promised view of Sierra Blanca, only to find they're building a 2-story next door that blocks the view! However, we still enjoyed our coffee or afternoon drinks on the deck each day, and there's almost no traffic in the area. The cabin is at the top of steep hills, so we were glad it was summertime with no snow.
We stayed several weeks to escape the Texas heat and enjoyed the cool temps tremendously! The kitchen was even smaller than I'd imagined, so I did as little cooking as possible, and the recipes I'd brought with me to experiment upon were taken back home un-tried. We never used the kitchen table as it was bar-height with 4 very heavy stools that were hard to move. The living room could use better lighting for those of us who still like to read, but WiFi and TV worked fine. (We almost never had TV on because you couldn't pause or fast-forward or record; we just can't stand watching commercials!)
Some things that bothered us wouldn't matter to someone staying just for a weekend. The owner was friendly and accommodating (we were able to put up temporary fencing so our doggies were secure), and the beds were comfortable, which is important. Overall, it's a nice little cabin for a short stay!
Thoroughly Enjoyed our week in Sandy’s Cottage. Plan on longer stay next summer.
Excellent place to stay and enjoy the view and the actions such as Horse Racing, shopping and Casinos in and around Ruidoso with added attractions of Elk, Mule Deer. Hummingbirds and various other wildlife. What more could you ask
We had an amazing time at your cabin. We had some amazing visitors one early not. My son stated, “this was the best part of his trip!” Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us!!! We will be back!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay!!!
Mr. White even called the day before to tell us that the cabin was ready for our arrival! We would definitely stay again and definitely recommend it!
Thank you so much Vicki--appreciate the kind words.
