The third floor bunk room - always a favorite space - includes a double bed, a bunk bed, three additional twin beds, and a port-a-crib. The third floor also has its own full bath (shower stall). High quality mattresses throughout. The living room area has a flat screen smart HDTV TV, internet (wired and wireless), DVD and VCR. Bead board, refinished pine floors, lovely antiques, hand painted furniture, and joyful wool rugs grace the cottage. Amenities include a full-size washer and dryer, a generous supply of linens and beach towels, and two water heaters so everyone can count on a hot shower. Many lovely places for entertaining.

Stroll through the Victorian gingerbread wonderland that is Bay View, a National Historic Landmark. Bike to nearby shops and restaurants in Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and other close and charming towns, or sit together on Victorian swinging benches at Sunset Park to watch the sun set over Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. Walk to one of two Victorian inns in Bay View for an excellent meal or return to enjoy your own gardens. Charming and cozy
First of all, my communication with the owner was exceptional. I was very impressed with all the information I was given and very prompt answers to any inquiries I sent to her. This Victorian cottage is located in a very unique and beautiful area in northern Michigan. It was extremely clean, cozy, and decorated in such a way that make guests feel welcome and comfortable in a “home away from home”. We certainly appreciated all the amenities, attention to detail, very well equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who might be looking for a special experience and place to stay in the area.

Bay View home was beautiful
Petoskey area is beautiful. This home is in historic Bay View community, making the stay even more special. The home, built in the late 1800s, is large, well outfitted and very comfortable. A good location and we recommend staying here.

We searched for the perfect summer home in northern Michigan for over 10 years; Lake Michigan and Little Traverse Bay are treasures. We discovered Bay View several years ago and each of us fell in love with the community for a wide variety of reasons. The multigenerational, family-friendly community is a step back in time were children can roam safely on their bikes, and the beautiful music of practicing musicians can be heard throughout the campus. This cottage is a rare find - true Victorian splendor with all the updates and amenities. It is our pleasure to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

We love the cool evenings and sunny afternoons in northern Michigan. It has every outdoor sport and beautiful vistas. Within 30 minutes we can be in Macinaw City ready to hop a boat to that beautiful Island, touring Fort Michimilimacinaw or traversing the Macinaw Bridge - the 5-mile suspension bridge connecting the Michigan peninsulas. Or we can head to several other quaint towns by boat, bicycle or on foot. The views in every direction are beautiful, but the sunsets over Lake Michigan sing to us. We've known for decades that this is where we want to retire. But we couldn't wait until retirement to enjoy this beautiful part of the country and its people.
