About John Lopez
My wife and I work hard in sales and so often it seems like we are always on the go burning the candle at both ends. [Who doesn't?!] We have two beautiful children and try to make as much time for them as possible. Other members of our family include our lab, a turtle, and some fish. Over the years our family has truly enjoyed this vacation home. As time flashes by, we realized how important it was to get away, reboot and just appreciate life because quality time is indeed, precious. This vacation home gives us the time we need to slow it down and have fun with family and friends on holidays and time off. This is 'as good as it gets' for a quick, local getaway. We are blessed.
John Lopez purchased this House in 2007
Why John Lopez chose Twin Peaks
Working and living in a big city, like Los Angeles, can be a burnout . We purchased this vacation home because we needed to escape to a place where we could go 'off the grid', kick up our heels and enjoy the beauty of nature. If that's what you are looking for, this is what the doctor ordered. It sounds like a cliche, but it has really allowed us to stop and 'smell the roses.' It's provided a haven from the stress of city living. We loved the idea of being somewhat near the lake and yet in the middle of surrounding towns that provide a variety of outdoor fun, hiking, dining, and endless exploration. Since we have kids we also wanted a place to build lasting memories with them and I think we accomplished that. Our Tree House in the Sky is just minutes away Lake Arrowhead, restaurants, factory outletts, grocery stores and Lake Gregory for fishing and swimming. So for us, it was 'Just the ticket.'
What makes this House unique
The snow season starts in mid December. Our place sits on a very quiet street surrounded by tall pines with only a couple of neighborhood homes nearby. So you don't have to worry about loud neighbors or being over crowded. Simply stated, there's nothing better than cooking a fat steak on the BBQ, having a nice glass of wine and watching the stars come out at night. Getting there takes just over 1 hour and it's a great way to enjoy nature and a slower pace with friends, family, and loved ones. There are nearby lakes, hiking trails, shops, restaurants, movie theaters and having the ability to say to all ' I'm out of town!' But there are plenty of things to do if you want to be active. Some guests do nothing but chill and watch TV or maybe read a book from our library. Others enjoy dinner out at a local restaurant like the Cottage or the Stockade for cocktails or the Bear Claw for karaoke! It's whatever you feel you're up for. The great thing is most of our guests say that 2 nights at our place feel like they've been gone a week. And that's what it's all about. Be our guest, but be sure to sign our guest book before leaving and tell us about your stay. Enjoy! - John and Maria

Cozy Cabin 2 hours from West LA!
Communication with the owner was very quick and easy via email. Our group had a great time spending a lazy weekend up at this cabin - would definitely return! It might be helpful to know that the driveway is quite steep, but there are parking spots just across the street. The cabin is well equipped with central heat, TV, great fireplace, and comfortable furniture. Kitchen is also well stocked with appliances and flatware. Everything you'll need for a quiet getaway! Make sure to bring bedsheets and pillowcases or pay a fee to have them provided by the owner.
Our family of 4 stayed here over the holidays. The cabin was very nice as described -- beautiful fireplace, comfortable beds.
The deck was large and had a view of the forest. I imagine this would be a nice place to stay in the Summer but I wouldn't stay
here again the middle of winter. It was difficult to get to/from the car and we all had hiking boots on. The steep driveway and
stairs were covered in ice and snow and were extremely slippery. There was no salt or sand on-site to make this less treacherous.
Also, what the website doesn't say (before you book) is you have to bring your own sheets, towels, shampoo, soap, firewood (even though the website says wood provided, there was none), and haul away all the trash when you leave.
Due to inclement weather with heavy snow and ice, we were unable to stay the entire time. Lovely charming cottage in the woods. Looking forward to a revisit in the spring.
We stayed in this cabin over Thanksgiving weekend and we loved it. The place is clean, cozy and the owner is absolutely lovely. The entire process from beginning to end was easy and pleasant....we didn't want to leave!! I will definitely be coming back and recommend this cozy treehouse to anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway or just some time to relax at a beautiful location.

Cozy & Comfy Getaway
We visit Lake Arrowhead often and this cabin is one of our favorites. It is very cozy and the cabin made us feel like it was our own. It was very clean and we had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well stocked. It was the perfect getaway for 5. The owner was extremely nice and detailed when we were making the final arrangements. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
