About Charlene Bratcher
I, Charlene, have visited the Great Smoky Mountain National Park since I was a child. I introduced the mountains to my husband, Bruce and daughter, Ansleigh. We have vacationed in Gatlinburg, several times a year, for the last 13 years. During the last 5 years we have actively searched for a cabin. God blessed us with the perfect cabin and even a rental cabin in September, 2009. We were also blessed with jobs, I am a teacher and Bruce is working for with the National Park service. Our daughter loves her school. We have a boxer, Daisy, who even loves the beautiful walks, and especially the wildlife. In 2010 we were blessed with another cabin 'Bear Paws'. 'Bear Paws' has a majestic view. See vrbo listing # 300489 Now we are able to offer our personal home as an overnight rental, due to the purchase of a larger home with ammenities for our guest.
Charlene Bratcher purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Charlene Bratcher chose Pigeon Forge
We chose the location of our rental, 'Bear Naked', and our home, because of its close proximity to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We are minutes from Dollywood, dinner theatres, and other family oriented activities in Pigeon Forge. We are just as close to Gatlinburg, where we enjoy shopping, browsing and dining out. If you are looking for a more commercial area, Sevierville is equally as close, as this is where I work. There are hundreds of free activities in the Great Smoky Mountains.

The house could use a couple of updates ( the washer/dryer were broke, the game room is not exactly a game room …). Overall it was awesome and we would definitely stay there again!
Our stay at Bear Pen Gap was amazing! The cabin was beautiful and the scenery was amazing! We definitely plan on coming back very soon!!!

Three bears cabin
It was a beautiful cabin that very cozy and comfortable. Some minor issues we had were the blinds in the second bedroom were broken and needed to be replaced and the dryer didn’t work, which we didn’t find out until after I had washed two loads. Overall though, it was a relaxing and great place to stay! Plan on visiting again!
My family and I recently stayed in Three Bears Cabin for four nights the beginning of April 2019. On the day we were scheduled to leave, I noticed a few scattered red welps on both of my arms. As the day progressed, more and more welps appeared. Upon arriving home, my husband noticed that my back was almost completely covered with scores and scores of red welps. I immediately called my friend who is a physician’s assistant and she said from my description that the welps were most likely the result of bedbugs. Bedbugs- Ick! I contacted Bruce and Charlene to tell them of my concern. They said they would compensate us and have it looked at the next day. Two days went past and I contacted them both to see what we could agree upon as compensation. Bruce called me back and said they would call the exterminator and let us know in a rather rough voice. I said ok that’s fair and hung up. Then, he butt- dialed me and I overheard him tell his friend, “sure they stayed 4 nights and now I was only trying to get a discount on our four night stay! Cursing the whole time and saying there’s no way I am going to help her. Nothing could be further from the truth! The welps itch and are a source of embarrassment for me at work and around town. I called him right back and told him on a voice mail that I just heard everything he said about me. Since he didn’t answer I called Charlene. She didn’t answer either so I left her a message as to what Bruce had done and said. Meantime, Bruce called me back and said he was sorry and he shouldn’t have been running his mouth. He said they would compensate me $325.00. Charlene called on a Sunday night and said she had the cabin inspected and found no bedbugs. She promised to send me a copy of the inspection report- which I am still waiting on to this day. I also have not seen my check for compensation and they will no longer answer my calls. As a Christian woman, I am not trying to take away from someone’s livelihood or cause trouble but I would advise against renting the Three Bears Cabin unless your safety can be assured. I have attempted to be as forthright and accurate with this review as possible to present you with the facts so that you can make up your own mind. As for our family, our first visit to Bear Pin Gap will be our last.
