About Don, Carolyn, and Nancy
My husband and I have been savoring the beauty of the Juniper Mountains since 2004. We've been renting both our home and guest cabin (431984) through VRBO for several years and enjoy a steady flow of guests from all over the world. We've just added a second cozy cabin (1157197) for a total of three distinct units! Each one of our properties is custom-built and the setting is amazing. We have four children, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, who live somewhat scattered along the west side of the continent. Don and I live on the 80 acres nearby with our Border Collies, Roxy (10yrs) and Maggie (5mos). Although we will both be here to greet you when you arrive for your stay, initial point of contact will be handled by our daughter, Nancy.

A touch of Heaven
I’m so thankful, I discovered this beautiful getaway. The owners Don and Carolyn are unique, creative designers. The ambiance of this place is beyond imagination. I would picture this to be the late John Wayne’s home. Waking up the first morning was so peaceful and gave me a euphoric feeling, looking out at the gorgeous mountains and lovely scenery. It was a happy occasion for my family and me. We especially loved the entertainment room. I’ve never seen a more creative bar that was built for that huge room. Don is an amazing builder and his wife Carolyn is an amazing interior decorator. I will never forget this great get away with my immediate family. I hated to leave this warm cozy atmosphere. It was beyond wonderful to me!
Weekend get together for 5 brothers
This place is AMAZING! the views of the surrounding mountains are something we will never forget, the house and property were all immaculately taken care of and had pretty much everything anyone would probably need.
Biggest thanks to Don and his wife, super nice people and we're excellent host. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone looking for a great place to get away that is still close enough to take a day road trip to the Grand canyon.
Thank you for allowing us to make some really great memories at your home.

Stars and Meteors
Spirit of the West, was truly a wonderful place to spend with my family and friends. We selected Spirit of the West because it offered a "dark" sky for viewing the stars and meteors and the western, cowboy interior was intriguing. This house did not disappoint! It was a treat to be a guest and enjoy such a wonderful house. Part of my family staying in the cabin next door and were part of all of the activities. The children enjoyed playing pool and cards into the wee hours of the morning. The kitchen was a dream for those of us that like to cook. Our hosts were wonderful and helped to make this visit to Arizona very special!
Amazing landscapes and solitude
Highly recommend this property. The house was exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. The owners were extremely nice and informative, the surroundings are beautiful and very secluded. Great time!!!
We absolutely had a blast. All of our adult children, their significant others and grandbaby were able to relax and unwind from our busy professional lives. The house was clean, well kept and very comfortable. The game room/bar was a huge hit. The whole family could easily fit together and play pool, cards and enjoy each other's company. We will definitely be back!
