3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 6
Why owner/property manager chose West Falmouth
The perfectly tranquil environment to de-stress and completely relax.
What makes this House unique
Abuts the fantastic bike path.
No refunds for cancellations made after payment is made
Great location, slightly dated furniture and matresses
View of the inlet is beautiful and birds abound. The kitchen is adequate but could use more plates- too many coffee cups!!
Downstairs is musty and the towels are thread bare. If you want a great location right on the Shining Sea Bike Path this is it. Bikes to every local beach and Woods Hole- kids loved it
Geraldine thank you for the 4 star review.
Glad that you enjoyed the location. We love it there as well. Being inside of the bird
sanctuary offers quite an array of interesting wildlife that's soothing to the soul.
We have lost some plates through guest attrition and will be supplementing those. As far as those coffee cups, we wanted to ensure that any coffee drinker has an adequate supply. I think that is why we have 3 coffee makers as well.
The towels will be replaced soon. Two of those mattresses are fairly new - one is only 2 years old - the other 3 years old and the last one we plan to change out for
next season. There are some days when it rains being on the water that the dehumidifier should remain on especially when windows are not open downstairs.
Yes, it is a perfect location with convenient access to the bike path and beaches.
Again, many thanks for coming and hope to see you all again.
Charming secluded upside down house on the sea marsh. Quiet, great view of inlet, near bike path.
The house is very clean and the beds comfortable. Well maintained. Window air conditioning and sufficient fans. Rooms are be dark. House could use extra bed sheets and more dinner plates for the kitchen. Very nice rental.
Katherine - Thank you for the positive review and very glad that you enjoyed your stay.
I know with the kitchen located upstairs on the 2nd floor you could
consider that upside down. The idea having it on the 2nd floor is that the amount of time spent in it we thought that it would be nice to be able to enjoy the view of the marsh from the expansive open floor plan.
Rest Relaxation & Recreation in Tranquil Setting
We have stayed in this home three times - twice in June and once in August – and we most certainly expect to return again. We have been joined at the home by family and friends, and have found it to offer all the comforts of a family home. We had great weather each time, and enjoyed cycling along the nearby Shining Sea bike path to Woods Hole and the island ferries, and taking our bikes off-path to Old Silver and Chappaquoit beaches, and to the village of West Falmouth for breakfast, ice cream and a cottage that sells fascinating crystals and stones.
This comfortable, clean and well-maintained 3 bedroom and 2 FULL bath home has everything we need for a restful, relaxing and recreational vacation: a well-stocked kitchen (including wine glasses, a lobster pot, and instant and brew coffee makers), kitchen and bath towels, bedroom linens, washer and dryer, storage area for bikes, kayaks and beach chairs, a horseshoe game in the yard, a large kitchen table for dinner and game nights, high speed Internet (just in case!), a reading nook, and more.
The things we enjoy most about this home is that it is quiet and secluded at the end of a long wooded driveway, it has mesmerizing views of a saltwater marsh wildlife sanctuary AND it has a private deck off the second floor main living area that runs the full length of the home. From the deck we enjoy gazing out at the marsh wildlife, soaking up the sun from late morning until sunset, and finding constellations amidst the stars well into the evening. Truly an idyllic setting.
In addition, we have consistently found the owner to be professional and responsive. He does his best to accommodate all reasonable requests. We look forward to our next visit!
