About Caroline Yung
We have been coming to this area and our 1000 Island property for 30 years. We have travelled the world extensively for business and pleasure. We have visited many great spots in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the America’s but the 1000 Islands region remans our favourite. We use HomeAway almost exclusively for our travel accommodation needs and recommend it to all.
Caroline Yung purchased this House in 2013
Why Caroline Yung chose Gananoque
We own another property, which is now our full-time home, very near by, so we're close by if you need help! We bought River’s Ridge because it had such a great presence on the River and within town. It’s a historic home with great windows and a stone foundation. 100 years ago it was likely a local workers simple home. We restored things and updated others. It has all new plumbing, electrical, gas heat and a fantastic kitchen to cook in and relax.
What makes this House unique
This home is truly unique in Gananoque offering: an on the River experience an in town experience within walking distance to everything an aesthetic appeal that is comfortable and relaxed there are perennial gardens out front and back with quiet sitting places

Charming describes the village - a short walk to shops, restaurants and attractions - and definitely the cottage. It came with all the modern conveniences while keeping that "old" feel. Was surprised at how spacious it was and every little detail was perfect!
Great house in a nice location!
We loved staying in this adorable restored old house in Gananoque. The owner met us a check-in and gave us a tour of the house and answered any questions we had. The house had everything we needed and was sparkling clean. The location was fantastic with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We loved visiting the town and going to a play at the Thousand Islands Playhouse. So thankful it was pet friendly so we could stay at this great place!
A Jewel On The River
What a beautiful restored home, keeping the old with the new.
Very clean with comfortable bedrooms. You can walk everywhere. You won't be disappointed. A true jewel on the river. Caroline, hope to return to our little red chairs facing the river.
A perfect place for a week of "homebase" lodging in Gananoque. The house was very well equipped, and so manicured that we felt we were the first ones to use it since its renovation. Caroline provided very good instructions on how to navigate the property and even suggestions on where to go and what to see nearby. Everything in town was within walking distance: great restaurants, boat rides, etc. We would certainly use this home again.
Wonderful stay in Gananoque
Caroline’s home was stunning and unique. Beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean and tidy. Can’t beat the amazing location. Would travel here again for sure!
Water view in Gan!!!
Great location, beautiful home with very tasteful decor. Home has everything you need for a comfortable vacation.
Gananoque is known as the "Gateway to the 1000 Islands". It is located where the Gananoque River meets the St. Lawrence River and is within an area known as the "The Frontenac Arch". The arch is a large area of some of the earth's oldest granite rock that joins the Appalachian mountains in the USA with the Canadian Shield. The 1000 Islands are the remains of granite mountains that were worn down by glaciers 10,000 years ago. The granite rock (often pink), blue sky and waters and green forests make this one of the most beautiful areas anywhere. Please look up Frontenac Arch Biosphere for lots of information on what to discover and enjoy here.
