We are Caleb and Christine and this is our first short term rental - and hopefully one day it will be our forever home. We met while he was stationed in Germany with the Army. I am born and raised German and left home to create a new home away from home with my husband. We currently live in the great state of Texas but Caleb grew up just down the road from this beautiful home, so when we had the opportunity to purchase it we saw all the potential in it and decided to take a chance and try ourselves on remodeling and creating our dream home. Though we are renting it as a short term rental, it's main purpose is for us to have a place to stay when visiting our family and eventually be able to make it our forever home (gosh, retirement sounds so far away still). Our favorite parts of the home are the two large porches. I love having a coffee in the morning enjoying the large trees and wildlife surrounding the home. I also love the rainfall shower in the master bathroom. Overall we really hope that we can create a comfortable and relaxing stay for you while still being super close to town and all the surrounding activities.

Why they chose this property

Our family lives just down the road. It is a very small and tucked away neighborhood where everyone gets along and helps each other out. The properties in the whole neighborhood are several acres and it seems everyone enjoys nature as much as we do. If you take a walk to the bottom of our property in spring you can find two huge Magnolia Trees. We also have small creek where beavers built a dam on the bottom of the property which now created a beautiful lake. We hope to be able to eventually build some secure walking paths through the wooded area to allow everyone visiting to enjoy it.

What makes this property unique

When my husband told me he wanted to buy a property in his home town I gave him a very long list of "must haves" essentially making it impossible for him to find what I dreamed of and would leave our home in Texas for. Since you found this listing - he did make it happen, so let me just share my little list of special with you:
Large property with a lot of mature trees. Huge back porch with porch swing to hang out on and front porch to sit out on the rocking chairs. Wrap around driveway (because it's just so convenient). Large windows throughout and open living room with a woodburning fireplace. Huge kitchen (though we did have to make the actual upgrades ourselves). Overall I just love the character and charm of the home and I believe since I am from Germany, my take on designing some of the rooms definitely is a tad different than what you would typically find in the area.
