Quick stay

I was lucky to not need for the larger bed to be on first floor, it was upstairs but not indicated it would be. Hard to warm up and saw some ants . Beautiful views and very peaceful area

Amazing week!

The whole experience was simple. The booking was easy, communication was fast, the place was clean and comfortable. There was a nice view of the water and Jamestown is breath taking! I would highly recommend. If I could make any suggestions it would be to provide water. The tape water had a metallic taste. Definitely would rent again.

Reservation was canceled

We arrived to check in and were told our reservation had been canceled. They gave us the number to “Extra Holidays” and we were told they overbooked and we were canceled, yet they had rebooked us to a different condo. We never received an email, text, call or message to let us know that the change had occurred.

Great condo with lots of space and a lovely water view

The condo was perfect. Very conveniently located in Jamestown just by the bridge to Newport. Lovely view from the deck across the water. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is very clean. The downstairs double bedroom is huge with its own walk in wardrobe and en suite. Upstairs the twin room is smaller but still a good size with large built in wardrobes. The lounge and kitchen area, also upstairs, has a great deck overlooking the water. The pool was closed for the season when we were there but looks well kept. Note in off season or out of hours you must pick up the keys at the Wynham hotel reception 3 minutes up the road towards Jamestown. The Overlook condos themselves down a very quiet secluded road right by the base of the bridge (no traffic noise for us with the windows closed). We were also delighted by the charming restaurants in Jamestown (particularly Jamestown Fish) which are very convenient if you don't feel like heading into Newport. I would definitely come back.

Very spacious property.

Nicely appointed property with lots of room. Very clean. Only thing missing was coffee filters for the coffee maker. Convenient to Jamestown and Newport. We will stay here again.

MISLEADING DECEIVING WEBSITE DESCRIPTION!!

Location of Wyndham Overlook is totally isolated because it's at the Municipal Water Waste Treatment Facility!!! The condo pictures are deceiving. They portray one of the bedrooms being directly riverfront with a beautiful view. I booked this condo several weeks in advance with constant follow-ups with staff to insure getting that particular condo upon our arrival date. I was always told that it will depend on what's available at time of check-in. Now, how stupid is that! I made many calls to management etc., and was told the same thing each time. I asked for an early check-in, which was ignored! We arrived at 2:00 p.m. and were told they didn't even start cleaning and that check-in was at 4:00 p.m. No one went out of there way to try and accommodate our early check-in nor did they confirm the waterfront condo upon our arrival. The staff (other than a young lady by the name of Stefanie who tried to help us afterwards) was unreceptive, unpleasant and couldn't answer our question as to why we cannot have the condo we requested. It's still a baffling mystery to us. I told them how deceiving their website is. There is no one on-site after check-in. They also told me when I booked it, that there was a restaurant on site and everything was in walking distance. Not true! The restaurant was at another Wynhdam property approx. 3/4 of a mile away. The other shops were further down the road. We asked if they could get us into another wyndham. They said they weren't "allowed" to make calls in our behalf. Everyone with whom I spoke during the weeks prior to our stay, told me different information each time. We are all seasoned travelers and this experience was NOT warm and fuzzy or welcoming to say the least. We will not recommend Wyndham Overlook. You don't get what you pay for. We would like at least a partial refund since wyndham did not honor my request from day one and the location is far from what the website claims! Please advise. Claudia Oxee & Guests.
