About Jody Sawchuk
I am a Vancouver resident who works full time and have invested in TCI because I absolutely LOVE the island! I encourage you to ask us as many questions about the island, and your stay so I can help you get the most out of your holiday! It is my pleasure!
Jody Sawchuk purchased this Studio in 2009
Why Jody Sawchuk chose Grace Bay
I have traveled all over the world. Extensively in the Caribbean. Nothing compares to the beauty of Grace Bay. I fell in love with the island instantly. Conde Naste reports Grace Bay beach in their top ten beach destinations in the world. Providenciales has some of the best dining I have ever experienced, this is rare in the Caribbean! World class chefs have settled onto this island and you will dine at some of the best places you could ever imagine!
What makes this Studio unique
The Alexandra Resort is a fabulous Resort which has been well managed since inception. While there are many resorts which boast fine amenities, they also have very high price points on the island. The Alexandra and is different. It offers modest luxury on the most beautiful part of Grace Bay with a price point that is affordable! I love my home away from home. The studio unit has all you need to have breakfast, lunch, dinner at home if you choose! Washer and dryer amenities are wonderful to have in suite. The resort hosts one of the islands best restaurants Asu, which will soon have quite a following.

This is something new for me to do a review but I feel it is important to let you know about my experience with getting a room for my husband and myself thru VBRO. I rented a beautiful suite for 8 days in Turks and Caicos. The owner who I spoke with thru messaging on the VBROV web site did not explain her circumstance with the resort and herself.
The owner of the suite only told me we could not use the lounge chairs and the pool but we could pay cash at the restaurant and bar at the resort. This all sounded perfect since I had planned excursions for each day. On my recommendation my friends also rent a suite thru VBRO, which I apologized for over and over again.
On the first day after a long flight my husband and I were hungry and went to the restaurant to get lunch. Once we explained that we would be paying cash because we booked thru VBRO they called a manager over and told us we cannot be served and would have to leave. We then had to take a cab into town to get something to eat.
I have reread the description of the property but I still feel the below is very deceiving. Please see below:
“Enjoy the large, free form swimming pool, (note that we will provide you with loungers and umbrellas on the beach, as well as a lounger and a chair on our studio patio . Loungers and umbrellas by the pool are exclusive to Alex guests only) swim up/poolside bar, tiki bar by the beach, sunset/patio dining, lighted tennis courts, lush tropical gardens, concierge services, , water sports, free kayak usage, a private beach with complimentary chaises, towels, umbrellas, and dining under the stars over looking the sea at one of the island’s top restaurants... Pavillion. Please note that my unit is part of the Turks & Caicos Islands VIP Club. Feel free to message me and I can provide you more details. Recently, the Resort is toying with going all-inclusive. This would have a minimal impact on my guests, but might impact the ability to use the restaurant on site. There are several better quality restaurants at nearby resorts and the TCI VIP Club Beach Butlers can take orders on the beach and bring you food”.
Everybody can read this in different ways but it does not describe the way you feel like a second cousin at a resort. The convenience of being at a resort on a beautiful Island is to get a tropical drink with an umbrella and being told you cannot get one was very disturbing.
I do not recommend making a reservation thru VBRO at least at this resort
This Resort frowns upon guests that do not book directly through the Resort. The main disadvantage is being unable to use the Resort's pool chairs and umbrellas. Also, since the resort has recently gone all inclusive, my guests are not able to use the restaurant at the resort. However, my unit is part of the TCI VIP Club where a group of owners have placed our own chairs and umbrellas on the beach for our guests use. In addition, we have TCI VIP Club beach butlers at the Resort that will take food and drink orders and bring it back from a nearby bar and restaurant right to your lounger. They also will set you up with complimentary sea kayaks, stand up paddleboards and snorkel gear equipment as part of the TCI VIP Club experience. I am pleased this reviewer was happy with the studio and said it was beautiful, as it has a brand new king sized bed and been completely repainted within the last year. For those people that are looking to spend a lot of time by the pool or go to an all inclusive resort, I would suggest booking directly through the Resort. For those that want to explore the many incredible restaurants on the island, several within walking distance, spend time under an umbrella on a comfortable lounger on the #1 rated beach in the world, and save more than 50% of posted Resort rates, then this studio is for you.
Great studio. Clean, modern and outstanding location! Joshua was a great plus on the beach. Paddle boarding was available and a relaxing way to enjoy mornings on the beach. Will definitely book again.
Nice for the price
Good location. Near main eating/shopping. Resort is quiet. Older facility
Great unit close to the greatest geach
What a great little unit at the Alexandra. Right on the ground floor and a short walk to the amazing beach. The unit had everything we needed - fridge, microwave, plates, cups, etc. The washer and dryer allow ed us to bring less shirts, shorts, etc. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom is a good size with a nice shower.
The TCI VIP arrangement works very well. We could always get chairs and an umbrella on the beach. Joshua and Kirby were the best. They took very good care of us.
Jody the owner was fantastic to deal with, as was Jam from Sunny Day Vacations who set us up in the unit. We had a wonderful vacation yet again in Provo. This unit is a great home base to operate from.
The only downside was the Alexandra Resort. Since it has gone all-inclusive, it seems to have slipped, especially the restaurant. But we just ate out at all the other good restaurants, so many of them close by. I didn’t want to give too good a review until we booked again. But now we have! Well done Jody! See you in 2019!
Lovely Condo and Excellent Resort
The Alexandra resort is definitely beautiful and a sit back and relax type of place. Jody’s property was exactly as described, it was lovely. The Sunny Day staff including airport transportation from Cecile was excellent. Cecile is a really nice person as well as being super punctual and reliable. He is a great resource to book for your island transport needs. Jam met us at the condo, she was very friendly answering all questions and provided a thorough orientation. The VIP part of the beach was lovely with no issues getting umbrellas and chairs. Joshue and staff were always available to assist in getting out the paddle boards, checking to see if everything was okay including organizing food from the Pavillon. I recommend ordering or strolling down the beach to eat at the Pavillon. For the same price point the food, friendliness of the staff, decor including service is definitely superior to Asu. The condo itself is super clean and well maintained. It has lots of fluffy towels and a well stocked kitchen. The bed is a very comfortable king with luxurious bedding. Air conditioning works really well. The television has lots of channels to choose from. It was a plus having access to a washer and dryer. It was great that the condo came stocked with detergent and bottles of water. It has a very nice outdoor sitting area and is conveniently located near the pool for quick and easy access. The pool at the resort is large and the water is warm. It is frequently cleaned during the day. It is unfortunate that you cannot use the pool chairs even when there is no one at the pool. If I had not misread the condo description (my fault) I would not have chosen the resort as it was definitely uncomfortable being forced to sit on the ground if you like going to the pool.
The fitness club was closed due to hurricane damage which I was surprised as I was told the resort was fully operational so I cannot comment on the facility. I ended up at Wright Gym which was nice but an extra unplanned expense.
This property is a 10 minute walk stores and restaurants. Try Shay Cafe for reasonable priced breakfast or Turkberry for amazing frozen yogurt and donuts. A big plus to both are the friendly staff. If you walk a bit further there is the Graceway grocery store. Overall I recommend this property. Booking through Jody ensures you don't pay Alexandria's high pp per night prices of $750 or $1200 pp per night for the all inclusive option.
Great location and room.
The property was great, although note you are not allowed to use any of the pool or beach chairs, towels other amenities etc. Also the food and service at the hotel is horrible, even with paying for it. Location is great not too far to town.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I appreciate you pointing out how great the property was, as well as the location. It really is the best affordable oceanfront Resort on Grace Bay! I do want to confirm guests are 100% allowed to use the Alexandra pool, (just not the Resort's pool loungers) and because I am a member of the VIP Club my guests are allowed full use of the blue beach loungers and umbrellas. The beach is where most will spend much of their time... it's the Grace Bay beach that the island is known worldwide for!
