A cozy cabin in the woods
We recommend this cabin, we spent some beautiful time with the kids and we loved it.
Our only bad experience with the cabin was the insects. I guess it’s the time of the year, but the house (inside) was infested with these stink bugs. Also, we would of love to have an outside grill.
Other than that, it was great, comfortable and clean.
Thanks for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Those "stink bugs" are bad this time of year, and we do apologize for that. We have noted that and your suggestion regarding the grill. We look forward to your return to the beautiful mountains!
What a beautiful house! Plenty of room for the whole family and who wouldn’t like being right by the water!
Comfortable and secluded
Our family of 4 spent two nights here and really enjoyed this cabin! We loved the location of the cabin - secluded and private and very calm. We saw a big group of deer walk by one morning. The cabin is very well equipped - and it was a joy to prepare food in such a well-equipped kitchen. We plan to be back!
Great little place in the woods!
We had a great time at this little cabin in the woods. Overall it was very clean, seemed newly updated, and offered us the peace and quiet we wanted! The cabin is down a dirt road, so while 4wd is not necessary, it's nice. I don't know if we could have made it in the rain! All the kitchen amenities you could need, and even a few stock pantry items (which were greatly appreciated). The rocking chairs on the porch were great. We used the grill too, which was nice, only thing was the thermostat wasn't exactly working and said it was super hot, but... not so much. The master bed was SO soft, we loved it.
The only downside we had (we recognize that this was not at all the fault of the cabin owners) was that when we pulled up there was a man with a large hunting rifle sitting on the front porch. Not exactly welcoming. It scared the crap out of me, but after my boyfriend chatted with him he left. He apparently was just using the porch as cover for deer hunting and was unaware the cabin was rented. So, it was fine, but definitely disconcerting.
Owner's response to Emily's review
In response to Emily's description of finding a "hunter" on our property when they first arrived, I am so very sorry that this event happened to you, Emily. I myself would have been frightened. It definitely was an unfortunate and unusual occurrence. Rest assured, I have spoken to the neighbor who was hunting on or near our property and this will not happen again. I am very pleased that other than this occurrence you enjoyed your stay at our cabin.
