Great property and location - needs cleaning/updating
The property was beautiful and had lots of charm, with plenty of space if you have multiple families. The host was lovely, she was very kind and responsive. The location was great, very close to D-Day sites, just a beautiful area to stay in. Because of property age, it would have been nice to have both check-in and check-out instructions provided (I checked all the emails, did not see them there) in a binder or PDF so that we know if there are any special care or quirky things about it - had to ask the property manager for check out instructions and the only thing we were told was where to put the trash outside (it wasn't obvious). The condition of the house needs some work. There were several plumbing issues (Again, the the host was VERY responsive), would prefer not to have any issues at all. The furniture was old and antique looking - while it added to the charm, we were not sure if it was sturdy enough (one of the chairs had a crack in the wood frame) and it was not comfortable for tall or old people in our group (very low seating). So we tended to stick to the chairs around the tables which were tall enough.House needs a thorough cleaning,VERY musty smell - could not open the windows while out because there was a barn cat who wanted to get in, but we had cat allergies in our party. Very dusty on all the surfaces which contributed to the musty smell, did not appear to have been vacuumed.Amazing property otherwise, above problems easily fixed. Great host!
