We loved the property and area. Our only issue was the stairs. Apparently we’re older than we realize. Being in our 70’s it was a little bit rough. Would definitely recommend for an adventure. Scenery beautiful. Quiet and relaxing
My 3 children (ages 7,9 & 1) and myself met our friends (adult & children ages 6, 9) halfway between each others homes in NC and Pittsburgh, PA. I found this listing and thought the kids would enjoy visiting such a beautiful, old cabin for a new experience. The cabin was warm and cozy with so much character, we spent plenty of time enjoying and discussing the art on the walls and the artifacts on the shelves. The beds were clean and comfortable. We had plenty of space and all amenities needed were provided. The only reason I did not give the visit 5 stars was not an issue with the host or the home itself but a few neighbor dogs did wander over. This was not an issue while we were inside but while loading up to leave a gray lab approached a bit too excited and knocked some down kids. After loading up, the dog started jumping and biting at our tires and chased our vehicle a bit away.

Rustic Cabin
This is an old cabin with a rustic charm. We were there to ski at Winterplace and found the distance to be a bit too far to be considered convenient, but this is certainly a personal preference. While old and charming, the cabin wasn’t thoroughly clean, as there was a considerable amount of dust on most services and cobwebs in corners and on the rails of the stairs. There were a lot of dead insects around the baseboards in one of the bedrooms and live wasps flying around, which made it uncomfortable to relax. There was no hot water in the half bathroom, which was inconvenient. The cabin was filled with antiques and various items on every shelf and table, making it feel cluttered. Additionally, it should be noted that the ceilings are low upstairs and could be a bit of a challenge for a tall or larger person. The cabin is advertised as dog-friendly, but if your dog doesn't do well around other dogs, you might have an issue. There were a couple of dogs roaming freely around the property. They were sweet dogs, but it might be a problem for some.Lastly, the description wasn't clear that the shower and kitchen are in a separate building. My family did not find this to be a major inconvenience, but other visitors may find this not to be an ideal setup.
